River Ridge East Birth Centre

Spent two days here last week. Having had my other child at Waterford, and had a terrible experience, it was the complete opposite at River Ridge. Every single person I had contact with here was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and didn't push any agenda First baby..The head Waterford midwife had repeatedly refused my request for formula and for 3 sleepless days insisted I keep trying to breastfeed when my child had a pronounced lip and tongue tie and was starving. Screaming almost 24hrs a day, until he was hospitalised dehydrated and severely malnourished This time, when my baby kept feeding endlessly and not sleeping, the midwife simply gave me formula to top her up and for the very first time, she slept a full 5hrs. And so did mama. I have to say, every midwife I had contact with at River Ridge seemed to have a genuine and blatant love for the babies, and real knowledge that even as a secondtime mum I learned so much. And the biggest difference I feel I should point out, was empathy. Everything was about making the new mum feel rested and confident, making the transition to home easier. Oh yeah, and the food was served 5 x a day, and was simply delicious and very generous. I 100% recommend River Ridge.

My partner Brooke and I, spent friday to saturday morning with our new born baby Elijah, we had such an incredible experience here at River Ridge. We would like to personally thank the midwife Bev, she is outstanding and really good at what she does. Will definately recommend River Ridge to others and maybe attend here again in the future.

I birthed my first child at River Ridge and the facilities were amazing! Our families first night in we were supported by the most amazing on call midwife who guided me and helped me with all i needed to do and know, i felt safe and comfortable with her, as each day progressed i felt more and more comfortable and appreciative of the midwifes who worked tirelessly to make sure my baby, myself and my partner were well cared for. Absolutely amazing stay. Lovely place. Lovely staff and wow the food was also just awesome. Great portions. Excellent quality. We felt hugely supported. Even in the middle of the night when our new one just wouldn’t settle. Nothing was too much for the staff. They always had options and answers and ways to help that worked a treat. This sort of service is definitely a must have for any first time parents. Could not recommend highly enough.

I have seen first had the amazing services that River Ridge East provide to mums, babies and their whanau. The beautiful environment and facilities were exactly what my sister, sister-in-law and many friends needed when bringing their babies into the world. The staff were so supportive, nothing was an issue and the food was next level! I would 100% recommend River Ridge East to anyone expecting a baby.

Thank God for River Ridge. After a difficult birth and stint in hospital RR helped us to recover and care for our baby. Without RR there is a high chance that my wife would be suffering depression - they saved us. Special thanks to the amazing midwives who cared for us: Jackie, Carrie, Bev, Wendy and Hannah. Fantastic experience staying here after the birth of our first born. The midwives and other support staff were all incredible and the food was great.

Definitely would not refer any one here, I had to ring from Australia to ask someone to help my daughter and my mother had to ring from Christchurch the next day. Not a great start for a new Mama.
