Ordered the seafood basket, which had a bit of everything: battered fish, battered scallops, chips etc. Everything was cooked just right, the fish and scallops were both plump and juicy, the batter had the perfect crunch. It came with a slice of lemon which was great. They give you salt to add yourself to the food, which I guess is a more health-conscious way of operating but really, who gets fish and chips if they're worried about their salt intake? All in all a good, honest chippy in the classic Kiwi tradition. A great choice after an afternoon of albatross watching!
This a truly local and authentic fish and chip shop. Run by a local, the atmosphere is as you’d expect. The food is good and the portions are spot on.
Fish with very good chips so yummy. What a great experience and service, as I had with 2 others having fish and chips dinner in the car with a view in Portobello during the shining sunlight last night.
We ordered cod, chips and salad and another portion of cod. The smell in the car was incredible and we couldn’t wait to get back and dig in! The cod was lovely! Yumms!
Frozen product @ premium price = not a winning proposition.n22$ per person, least appetizing g blue cod meal in our lifetimes and we been around.
