10/10. Could not recommend them enough. My favourite donburi spot in the whole of Auckland! The staff are always so incredibly nice and welcoming, while the food is consistently so fresh, tasty and filling. Absolutely great portions and quality for the price, and there are so many options to suit everyone as there are many vegan and vegetarian options too. Everything I have tried has been fantastic. One of my all time favourite Japanese restaurants. You will not regret it!
My favourite Renkon since they offer the Salmon and Rice bowl! Great food at a great price. Took the whole family there and although the menu is quite limited everyone was able to find something they wanted. Fed a whole family of 8 4 couples for $145 including sides.
Been here a couple of times. Just go for the donburi, they are always good..miso sauce katsu and curry katsu are our favourite! Udon is just standard, but maybe it depends which topping you choose with the udon? Price is reasonable for the portion and quality.Food: 5/5
The food was pretty good, it stacks up pretty well against other Japanese noodle bars udon or ramen that I've been to and it's fairly priced. It's mostly self service but they do bring the food to your table when it's ready. They're very fast in getting the food out and very polite.
Great spot for lunch, fresh food and well priced! Highly recommended
Tempura was genuinely terrible and uneatable. Battered prawns and greasy, burnt, deep fried vege fritter… Comparable to a local fish and chip shop.
Chicken Yakiniku is bloody deliciousFood: 5/5
Food was great. I ordered prawn katsu curry donburi. Yummy and reasonable price. Staff wasn’t friendly so rate down a bit.
Went to get a yummy meal as I do frequently. Brought my 11 year son with me but he wasn't keen. So I got him burger fuel instead. While waiting for burger fuel I went to Renkon to order my food. I asked the server if my son could join me outside with his burger fuel meal so we could sit together. The server stated no outside food policy which I understand under normal circumstances. However there was literally nobody in the restaurant. Every single table was available and I was ordering a meal there. I feel common sense should have been used in this instance and maybe let the rule slide? Not one customer entered the restaurant while I sat outside next door at Burger Fuel watching the employee vigorously clean the windows. Yay for clean windows
Sauce chicken-katsu, Yakiniku with beef and Renkon chips! Awesome yammy Tips. Middle of you eating donburi, crush and mix with renkon chip&sauce together! It’s more tasty and feel like having a second meal!! >___<
