Their yum-yum sauce for the prawns have not changed for 20 years. My favorite goes to the prawns. Good for get-together and kids, the chopping skills pretty amazing to watch. 2 minutes from the beautiful beach.

From start to finish it was a disaster! Only options were like banquet meals, could not order a main meat, rice & veg without the entree, appetizer, etc. We had to add side orders of meats, after ordering 5 appetisers to share. Salmon side was 2 very tiny pieces of salmon, Cost $22.00!! Scallop side $22 for 4. The staff were all very difficult to understand what we were requesting. The salads from our 2 "banquet" meals did arrive at our table, the steamed rice that was ordered to accompany our side meat orders were not delivered to our table. Overall, a very disappointing experience, and we all agreed would not return.

Great service treat values and tasty food. Lots of choice from Beef to fish, the idea of a chef cook in front of you emails noval even as a repeat customer. Our chef today was very friendly and knows what he was doing. Booking recommended, cheap on street parking on surrounding streets.$1 for an hour on weekends. Lunch delays are of good values, ice creams included. Recommending a visit.

Great experience thanks to the chef, very funny and confident. We had steak, prawns and chicken served with carrots, courgettes and onions. All very tasty and fresh. Asahi beer on tap as well as bottled beers and wine. Upstairs by the George Mason theater.

Jenardo..I’m not sure how to spell his name but going to take a guess. Jenardo was our chef last night and holy moly he blew us away! That guy deserves a pay raise and will be my reason to go back to daikoku takapuna for as long as he works there! You are the 5 stars! I have been going to daikoku for many years and I have never had an experience like last night, you made not just my birthday so special but everyone else had the best time too and I can’t thank you enough! You are a legend and your cooking was amazing, I’ll definitely be back plus asking you to be our chef again best night ever!

Wasn't bad but has definitely changed over the years, less food/smaller portions, was still full when left though, chef was good.Food: 3/5

Wonderful experience. Great entertainment of the chef cooking the food right in front of you. Food is delicious, and so is the warm sake. Really enjoyed it.

Headed out for a nice Friday evening meal. Very relaxed, funny and professional chefs. Flavourful food and a show. How can you go wrong. Great for groups of all sizes

The best 'Teppan-Yaki' chefs cook on Hot grill directly in front of you style restaurant. Super delish options available - my fave splash n meadow scotch fillet n prawns - and of course the famous n my fav YUM YUM Japanese Mayo sauce. Very family friendly restaurant...kids enjoy watching chef cook in front of you. Our chef, 'Mickey' was very entertaining and a delight to have cooking our meal Always enjoy having dinner or lunch & by far my favourite place to come
