The unit we stayed in wasn't real modern, but comfortable and the essentials were there. Friendly hosts, didn't notice the road noise. Really cool redwood trees. BBQ tables out the back with a rural outlook, nicely maintained grounds.
The owner went out of his way to help us when we broke down and had to be towed somewhere on a Sunday evening. He was kind and generous and we are so grateful. We had an excellent sleep, comfortable bed and generous sized unit with good facilities. Thank you!Service: 5/5
Place was lovely Lovely owner. Room was nice The Room 11 needs a new mattress on bed as the springs came through and poked me in the ribs. But everything else was clean and tidy ..
Very sad experience...travelled both north and south island and definitely most expensive given what was presented. Hideous furniture that had no support. Seriously sad and thin mattress, maybe equivalent to camp bed. I think the kitchen was equipped from an op shop and just barely? No problem with op shopping, in fact regular shopper. Previous reviews talk about cleanliness...mostly but light above sink, covered in grease, clearly hasn't been cleaned for months. Keep driving
Stayed in a two bedroom unit with my two kids and wife. $220 for the night. A bit of road noise from SH1 was louder than we are used to at our rural home. But didn’t keep us awake - not really an issue. Beds were comfy enough. Has sky sports and the sky kids channels. Would stay again if I ever had to go back to tokoroa
Bed was very comfortable cooking area just right great fridge-freezer. They only thing that I thought should be in the kitchen cupboard was a lid for the frying pan, we had a great host.Rooms: 5/5
Very clean and tidy. Everything was there required for stay. I shared the double unit with a workmate whilst on contract and have no complaints. Some light sleepers may experience interrupted sleep from traffic on SH1, although closing the relevant windows fixed that.
The unit was incredibly clean and tidy, very well presented for an older motel. Excellent customer service and very welcoming. My wife and I rode our bikes down from northland and they left the heater an electric blanket on for us for when we arrived, very hospitable. 10/10 recommend to anyone on a long haul needing a stopover Thankyou very much.
was not expecting much but was very pleasantly surprised. very clean, simple but comfortable unit. Shower and bathroom a bit old but clean and serviceable. Good sized kitchen and very retro stove. Would definitely stay again
A convenient stop-over on a long trip. The motel is quite old but clean and reasonably spacious for a studio unit. The beds were great! Lovely rural backdrop.
