Raw Essentials (Kaiwharawhara)

My two dogs love the food we buy from this raw pet supply. Their favorite is goat, wallaby, venison, and duck, we buy bulk 18kg box is about $200, which lasts our dogs two weeks. They also have mixed cubes, for example; salmon, tripe, wallaby, and 18kg bulk box is about $190. We moved to raw feeding as our female American bulldog had allergies that got worse with commercial dog foods. Raw feeding was the last resort for her, and it worked with a small dose of steriods. Lynn @ rawessential advised to keep beef, lamb, and chicken out of her diet as she reacted to it, plus its the main products used in commercial dog foods. Both our dogs we've feed them raw feeding since they were 1.5 years, now they are 8yrs, I've noticed they've never had any health issues. Most of our previous pedigree dogs' feed on commercial dog food did not have great health after 5 years of age.nAlso raw pet food makes our dogs poop less, because it's ingesting food that's being digested & properly utilized by the body resulting in less waste & the poop is less smelly.

Our senior cat developed gut problems inflammation, possibly IBD and despite good vet care she became extremely picky with her food, to the point of only eating a few treats each day we tried about 20 different kinds of supermarket and prescription cat food to no avail. We switched to raw essentials 3 weeks ago, and in combination with continued medication she's been eating the recommended amount of food every day and has put a little bit of weight back on. Toileting issues and vomiting have also mostly stopped. It's been a huge relief to get her declining health turned around. The product is great and the shop staff have been informative and helpful. If you really care about your pets diet then this is the place to go. Staff are really knowledgeable and since we've put our two cats and one dog on their recommendations their health has increased 100 fold. Their toilet habits have changed for the better and their coats are extra shiny and smooth. I give this place 100 out of 100. A win win all around!

It’s a good location to get processed raw protein for pets but I would take everything they say with a grain of salt and discuss with your vet.nn- All their promotional material says dogs are carnivores. Dogs are omnivores.n- they seem to work on the assumption your pet has never consistently had meat beforen- They don’t always have the same products in store.n- Because of this we have now tried almost all proteins which now makes it hard for us to try a truely novel elimination diet - if I had been aware of supply chain issues it would have informed my purchasing habits from the outset.n- They recommended a novel diet for my dog but never asked what proteins he has had previously and then recommended chicken and duck broth on top of it - known allergens.

Our old cat is strongly diabetic. We're testing his blood sugar several times per day and injecting the requisite dose of insulin. The vet prescribed and supplied foods were not bringing his sugar under control, but switching to Raw Essentials rabbit, hare, chicken and wallaby really helped. The staff were really helpful with planning his diet. Really grateful for this service. Thank you.
