Raw Essentials (Kaiwharawhara)

Incredibly friendly and helpful - in person and online. Easy to find. Good parking. My fur baby has just started their products and is loving it.

My two dogs love the food we buy from this raw pet supply. Their favorite is goat, wallaby, venison, and duck, we buy bulk 18kg box is about $200, which lasts our dogs two weeks. They also have mixed cubes, for example; salmon, tripe, wallaby, and 18kg bulk box is about $190. We moved to raw feeding as our female American bulldog had allergies that got worse with commercial dog foods. Raw feeding was the last resort for her, and it worked with a small dose of steriods. Lynn @ rawessential advised to keep beef, lamb, and chicken out of her diet as she reacted to it, plus its the main products used in commercial dog foods. Both our dogs we've feed them raw feeding since they were 1.5 years, now they are 8yrs, I've noticed they've never had any health issues. Most of our previous pedigree dogs' feed on commercial dog food did not have great health after 5 years of age.nAlso raw pet food makes our dogs poop less, because it's ingesting food that's being digested & properly utilized by the body resulting in less waste & the poop is less smelly.

I recently switched our dog to raw diet, and the staff at this shop helped a lot with the transition. At every visit they would check in on the progress of the our dog and suggests the right food for the next step. Plenty of choice in the shop of all different kind of protein, bones, treats, etc.

Amazing service as always and Alexis went out of her way to source fish for our hungry birds at Wellington Bird Rehab Trust; she is a star!!

Our senior cat developed gut problems inflammation, possibly IBD and despite good vet care she became extremely picky with her food, to the point of only eating a few treats each day we tried about 20 different kinds of supermarket and prescription cat food to no avail. We switched to raw essentials 3 weeks ago, and in combination with continued medication she's been eating the recommended amount of food every day and has put a little bit of weight back on. Toileting issues and vomiting have also mostly stopped. It's been a huge relief to get her declining health turned around. The product is great and the shop staff have been informative and helpful.
