A steady climb to the Basket of Dreams monument through a pretty forest. There are good views of Queenstown from here, but it's well the effort to make the summit for the spectacular 360° views, which will greet you up there. It was not a difficult walk. It only took me three quarters of an hour to reach the monument with photo stops on the way
Beautiful hike, very steep though. You go about 1.5 miles up a steep trail, and then reach the summit where there's a beautiful view. There's sheep, rams, quails, and very few sand flies. Took me a bit over an hour at a comfortable pace.
Steep track with ongoing incline, minimal flat areas but the track is nicely paved and wide so you can stand to the side and rest. The view's probably best at sunrise and sunset, but if you don't want to be doing half the walk in the dark, the view during the day is still gorgeous.nnA must do in Queenstown!
Moderately difficult hike. Stunning views on top. Steady climb all the way to the top with a few steep tricky spots. Good soles are a must. The downhill is a bit tiring on the knees. We are in our 60’s but reasonably fit. Overall loved this for the many view vantage points.
Beautiful trail and well worth the effort to see the views. The trail has quite a climb, and it’s all uphill! My fitness app pegged the trail at 1300 feet elevation gain over 1.88 miles. Bring water, and give yourself ample time to get to the summit… you’ll work your butt off!
