The wonderful old architecture of the railway station During the pick time is a bit more crowded but that's everywhere. The navigation signs are still very easily visible and understandable. There is a plenty of different connections across the city near surrounding and far distance connections. Included a lot of food stores for the convenience of traveling or short stops. Thank you
Very big train station located at the heart of Frankfurt with connection points to several parts of Germany, and Europe. Dirtier than any train station I have ever been to in Europe so far. There is trash and waste in all of the surroundings, although the inside is at least maintained to some extent. Public transport readily accessible in the vicinities and bike parking is available. Also a lot of scooters for rent in the area. Coffee, Snacks, vending machines, restaurants, and travel shops available on site. There are some cash machines around. Waiting areas available with limited seating. Ticket machines throughout the place. Travel and information centers also available. No smoking indoors, but there are some smoking stations in the surrounding outdoor areas.
It is a beautiful train station with its own architectural features. There are many convenient services in the train station, such as DB information desk, bakery selling German specialty breads, fast food restaurants, mini-markets, etc. But the sanitary condition, not particularly clean and hygienic. There are a lot of pigeons in this train station, resulting in a lot of bird poop, and there are some homeless vagrants.
The main reason I choose Frankfurt Haputbahnhof as the starting point for my personal travel is that there are quite a variety of public transportation tools that can easily to use from day to mid-night. No matter what time it is, the crowd is obviously everywhere inside or outside this station. There is also a paid toilet on the underground floor here and a variety of restaurants are also quite sufficient for traveler's basic requirement. I hope to have the other opportunity again to take different long-distance trains here in the future.
Very busy area. One of the largest and busiest railway station in Germany. You can easily move any city from here. You can get ICE, RE, RB, S-Bahn, U-Bahn from here. But the outside of this station is not clean. There are many drug addicted and homeless people are roaming around the station. But they do not disturb people. You should be careful.
Beautiful old railway station. Similar style to most German railway stations, but much bigger. The area around the station is not great, so best you try and get out of there as quickly as possible.
Train stations are never my favourite places to visit except you need to take a train there. It's always stressful when you go to a train station, you either get lost in a big station, worry about missing your train, concern about pickpocketers, beggers or bad people who try to take advantage of you as a foreign tourist, wtc. The Main Train Station Hauptbahnhof in Frankfurt is no exception though it is housed in a well-restored historical building plus an iron arch shaped structure which is pleasant to look at and Instagram worthy. There are a few shops and good variety of eateries inside the hall where you can buy some travel items, snacks, meals, drinks, etc. As an aside, the train schedules during the summer months in 2022 were a nightmare with frequent delays and cancellations thanks to the roaming vacationers post COVID and the 9 euros ticket promotion.
The station is not too busy, I like how organized is it.. German people are not always helpful
It’s the main train station of Frankfurt where you can get train to most of the European countries. I took direct train to Linz, Austria. Although it’s a huge and crowded station but there is no proper waiting area that facilitate you during the cold weather. Tram and bus stops are available near the train station.
It's a pretty large train station by German standards, and an important hub in this part of the nation. That said, it's not somewhere you'd ever actively want to be. The neighbourhood is not as bad as it was ten years ago, but hardly a destination. Inside and near the station are plenty of opportunities to eat, drink, or otherwise sit down, which you'll want to do during your seemingly inevitable delays. I think the worst thing about this place is that you can only switch platforms on one side, with no tunnel or other means in place further along the platforms. This means that when you are unlucky enough to have a platform switch which is not infrequent, and your original carriage/seat reservation was on the far end... you'll be desperately hauling your pleasant self and potentially luggage over great distance at great speed. Overall, a place you put up with at best.
