We had an incredible experience at Porterhouse Grill celebrating our son’s birthday. From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel warmly welcomed and well looked after.nnThe food was outstanding, perfectly cooked, juicy steaks, sliders the kids absolutely loved, and beautifully presented, delicious desserts. Every dish impressed us.nnWhat truly made the evening unforgettable was the chef personally coming out to greet our son, sing Happy Birthday, and present him with a special cake. That thoughtful gesture meant so much and made him feel extra special.nnThank you to the whole team for making his birthday celebration so memorable. We can’t wait to come back!

An oasis of delicious delights in Pakuranga Mall. A great spot for lunch or dinner, and they’re open until late.nThe menu is well considered with a great range of steaks, mains, entree, and sharing plates. The dessert list is also excellent.nA good wine selection to accompany many items.nProfessional and friendly service, attentive when needed, with a watchful eye to ensure guests enjoy the experience.nHighly recommend.

Absolutely the best grill house I've ever visited! The food was nothing short of divine. every dish was cooked to perfection and packed with incredible flavor. From the moment we walked in we felt genuinely welcomed. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and it immediately felt like somewhere you would want to stay and enjoy your time especially after a long work day and not wanting to cook. The food was very good.nnThe portions were generous without compromising on quality and everything arrived perfectly cooked. I had the scotch fillet and the steak was so juicy and tender.nnWhat stood out most was the service. The staff were attentive and friendly and made us feel valued ,not just like another table. It’s rare to find a place that gets both food and service so right. I did not take photos of the food but I surely enjoyed my mango spritz mocktailnnThis is definitely a restaurant we will be returning to and recommending to friends and family. An all round fantastic experience.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but our experience at this restaurant was beyond disappointing. We spent around $100 for steak, burger, and calamari, and honestly, it’s not about the price — it’s about feeling completely ripped off.nnOur food took around 40 minutes to arrive even though there were only three tables being served. I ordered a scotch fillet medium rare, but what arrived was a very dry, well-done steak that was completely uneatable. I politely returned it, while even the kids’ burger was unbelievably salty — as if the meat had been sautéed in salt and oil.nnAfter waiting more than an hour, the replacement steak still wasn’t ready. Imagine if the restaurant had actually been busy. When I gave my feedback politely, the manager at the counter responded by saying it was written on their menu that steak takes 40 minutes. I explained calmly that the menu actually says “30 minutes wait for steak, but worth the wait.” Instead of addressing the issue professionally, he raised his voice and claimed, “Our steak is the best steak in New Zealand.”nnWhat shocked me even more was when I got home and checked the replacement steak — after waiting over an hour, it was completely raw and rare to the point it was inedible. You can clearly see it in the photos.nnVery disappointing experience overall — poor food quality, excessive wait times, and terrible customer service.
