Peach’s Hot Chicken

I have been to peachs a lot of times. We travel 45 minutes to go to the Panmure store.nThe service is always a 10. Food is always amazing. And tables are clean and tidy.nThe servers are nice and friendly, they are always happy to help.nnI love the Mac and Cheese, creamy and perfect amount of cheesy. I wish I would order a big bowl of it nnThe restaurant has mostly been full whenever we have been but the service is quiet fast, so the wait was very short.

I wanted to share my honest experience at Peach’s Hot Chicken.nnFirst of all, the service was great. The team members were genuinely friendly, always smiling, and created a welcoming atmosphere, big credit to the staff for that.nnUnfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to expectations. The chicken was a bit bland and noticeably greasy, as it seemed to have absorbed too much oil. It wasn’t quite what I expect from Nashville-style hot chicken.nnTo be fair, this was my first time trying Nashville chicken in New Zealand, so I don’t have a local benchmark. However, I’ve had much better experiences in Australia especially at Belles Hot Chicken. I’m also a big fan of Kiwi legend Morgan Mcglone, whose take on Nashville hot chicken really sets the standard for me. Compared to that, this experience felt a bit underwhelming.nnWe also ordered mac and cheese, which was quite watery and tasted more like a pre-made supermarket sauce than something freshly made.nnBecause of these reasons, I probably wouldn’t return. One more thing to note: the restaurant seems to have ventilation issues, the strong burnt oil smell really sticks to your clothes, which takes away from the overall experience.

Not recommended - over price and very average fried chicken burger. They use chicken breast as their chicken fillet and it was way over cook - very dry inside and i did not enjoy it. The sauce it nice.

The fried chicken was tasty, though not the best i had. And the portions including the sides could be a bit bigger. Visited on a friday evening and waited about an hour and half from arrival until the food came out. The ‘mild plus’ spice level was already quite spicy in my opinion. overall good good and service but wouldn't rush back if i have to wait that long for a table and food.

Peach’s is one of the better places in Auckland for some fried chicken, and definitely the best Nashville Hot Chicken option. The Mild and Medium options are a bit too tamed down, you may as well get KFC if black pepper is your spice limit just kidding… - but Hot has got a decent amount of spice that will push most punters out of their comfort zone, and Holy Cluck is a spiritual experience that I recommend trying if the idea of mild chilli-induced hallucination sounds like your jam. Give it a go! Also, get the Hush Puppies wjth some Comeback Sauce.
