Incredible location, amazing food, friendly staff. Their Chardonnay is easily the best on the island. If you can do the long lunch, highly recommended. And the entire vineyard is like being in Tuscany, it’s a MUST visit!
Italian dreamscape, tucked away in a secluded hillside in the lesser known part of waiheke.nnCame here for the long lunch and it was special.nWe took 4 hours to complete the experience and at $100 pp, it was well worth it. A truly relaxed and indulgent afternoon.nnFood was great, wine paring good but the strolls between the courses on the restaurant grounds made a good experience great.
We had a 5 course degustation booked. A warm and lovely welcome, their grounds are peaceful and serene. Really encourages you to relax. The waiter assigned to us was nice.nnWe had an initial confusion as we had some dietary restrictions which they didn't listen to fully. Had a pescitarian, 2 that didn't eat beef, and I that didn't eat pork. But got there in the end. Had our request for wine pairing disappear so we lost 1 pairing. The food was nice but we noticed the portion sizes weren't all the same, some of us definitely got more than others.nnThe wines paired were delicious, the food was great. I'd be interested to see what their long lunches are like but perhaps a future trip.
We traveled from Auckland on the ferry to Waiheke Island to have Sunday long table lunch at Poderi Crisci. Authentic Italian food is served to the table to share and plenty of it. The restaurant made us feel like we were somewhere in Italy, the food was a delicious feast. Allow at least 5 hours.nRecommend you drive as all taxi services are not available for pick up after 5pm unless you have pre booked.
I live on Waiheke Island and can say that on all the occasions many I have had the good fortune to enjoy Poderi Crisci's Sunday Long Lunch, I have always come away with both my heart full and my spirits high. This is without question, the very best of what Waiheke has to offer in hospitality on the island - as you arrive you are welcomed by the owner and you do immediately feel like you are part of a very special experience - because you are. If you have limited time, but want the very best experience on Waiheke you can have, venture to Poderi Crisci - but book ahead because the restaurant is small and caters ahead.
