Story

As you enter the Tavern you will be overwhelmed with the rich history & great stories that explode from each & every corner of the Tavern. Friendly staff will serve you from the brand new bar & you can relax comfortably in the recently refurbished interior of the Tavern or enjoy the extensive views from the deck.
While overlooking the bay where orcas & dolphins swim amongst the moored boats, have a drink from our great beverage selection or sample our classic menu which includes our famous fresh fish & chips, calamari ,yummy burgers, our famous Monteith's pie & loads more choices.
The venue hosts a large number of big screens showing all the latest sports & we have a self service TAB machine, two pool tables & four pokies to entertain you should you tire of the view.

Food is good, stuff were nice, but better not to go by yourself, because they expect you to grab cutlery and napkins by yourself, which I couldn’t since the seagulls stared at my food all the time. I ended up acting like I was an angry customer by yelling excuse me to a waiter who was far from me so I can get cutlery and eat like a proper human. And glad I always have some napkins in my hand bag.
If you are in the area, Must visit place. Great views, friendly service and can enjoy your choice of good food and beer. If you in Whangarei it may be 30 min drive but worth it. I love these country side places.
I have been here on several occasions, fantastic setting with sea views with Manaia in the background, lovely friendly staff and service, delicious selections from the menu, highly recommended.
Quite a busy little eatery. Delicious food. My daughter ordered the mini hotdogs kids meal, and I ordered the chicken and bacon burger. So good! Parking could be better.
Amazing food awesome service and fast Kai delivery only waited 10mins for our meal and the restaurant was full 5+stars highly recommended

Have been here a few times now and must say the food is usually pretty good. Shared the butchers pizza today and it was delicious. Would absolutely recommend and most definitely have again. Great little pub- surprisingly busy on a rainy day.
Parua Bay Tavern is a great spot for a cold one and a nice meal with seating both inside and outside over looking the water and the boats zooming around. Awesome to relax in the sunshine and watch the day disappear. Pool table to knock afew balls around. Parking on both sides of the road. Well worth stopping in after a day at the beach.

As good as it gets in these parts....... in fact, one of the best options, among very few, for literally miles around. Sunset over the immediately adjacent bay, good food, excellent beer...... but the locals have known this for a VERY long time!Food: 4/5
