Pakuranga College

i am a student at this school. currently this school is so inconsistent with their rules. some teachers are so well managed with keeping track of uniform, whilst others don’t care. however the way they handle with incorrect uniform is so silly, they will send you to the deans for incorrect uniform and even then threaten to send you home, isn’t that impacting on my learning more than just a hoop earring in my ear? also, me and my friends have sat at the same spot for three years, we have gotten kicked out multiple times for no reason even though it’s so cold.

Used to go here, the school is alright itself but what makes this school so horrible are the garbage teachers. Each teacher has their own set of rules and marking conduct instead of the entire school following the same rules. Your grades completely rely on the teacher you get, you have some teachers that go around teaching each students individually and making sure they get it. Others don't, I had some many teachers across different subjects who wouldn't do any teaching at all, just walk in and say that everything is on slides and make you figure it out yourself, time consuming and useless employment of the teacher. Some teachers will allow you to resubmit your grades even if you fail or if you passed they allow you to edit your already submitted work for higher grades , while others don't give you that second chance. You have teachers that threaten and blatantly lie to you, just for a reason to yell at you. Won't name any names Staff members in this school care more about students being late rather than the real issues with the school, just walking in the toilets especially the Tec block ones you'll be blasted by smoke coming from vapes and cigarettes. Kids fight all the time, all around the school. People get jumped by groups of little brats who primarily hang around the tec block. But that doesn't matter, because you get an instant detention if you're late. I'm not even going to mention this schools lack in consideration of their student's health and mental health. Staff members always like to assume that you're doing everything in your power to 'wag' or skip classes. I'm sure many schools are like this because many of the teachers are old and lack empathy, they still think that the present is the past, and still think it's appropriate to behave the way they did back then. It can become really mentally draining, and depression is quite a persistent issue here. Don't send your children here, there are many other better schools to go to. This place is horrible.

I had a teacher tell me that they were going to kick me out of school because I was positive for COVID and wasn't able to attend school for a few weeks. The same teacher also told me that I should move to a different school when I was having mental health issues. There is a lack of consideration for students' health in this school and they only care about attendance rates.

If Google had to option to give 0 stars I would, but this is the worst school to put your kids in. I overhear teachers in the staff room just straight making fun of & talking down on their own students. The teachers here are rude & disrespectful and they have no respect towards the students at all. They love to threaten you & would tell you things like “I’m the teacher so you respect me, you are a child so you don’t deserve my respect.” Not to mention this is the most racist school towards Pacific island & Māori students. If you were to ask any pacific or Māori student in this school, they would all tell you the same thing. The teachers here don’t care about your mental well-being, your health or your learning. The only thing that matters to them is if their students are wearing incorrect uniform & getting their pay check. The teaching here is also very bad, instead of teachers explaining the work they just pass you a sheet and expect you to know the answers without an explanation. The students here are also terrible, the amount of bullying that goes around this school is actually ridiculous. Please parents, save your children from being mentally torn apart by this school & enrol them into any other one.

horrible school deans are rude to students and assume the worst and receptionists are even worse always angry at parents and students for being late dont send your kids here pls
