Went with high hopes reading all the reviews and rating but turned out to be an average place. Staters were good but mains were poor. Service well below par. Staff don’t know how particular curry was cooked, couldn’t recommend dish when asked, had to ask and wait for beers, water! Rotis were undercooked and they tried to tell us how Tandoori rotis are made to justify the raw undercooked dough. May be it wasn’t their day at work. Hope they improve soon.
We had a pleasant experience at Own Masala Tauranga. Before visiting, we called to confirm their closing time and were informed they are open until 10 PM, which gave us confidence to head there with family. When we arrived around 9 PM, the staff made sure to take our order promptly and clearly communicated their closing time so everything could run smoothly.nWhile it was close to closing, the team still accommodated us and ensured we were served without unnecessary delays. It’s understandable that restaurants need to manage their closing hours efficiently, and we appreciated the clarity once we were there.nOverall, the food and atmosphere made for a nice family outing. Thank you to the team for handling a late visit and making the effort to serve us.
First timers and our intro to Indian food after a very long hiatus! Wow! The food was awesome! There was a dance party going on in my mouth! Service was outstanding my partner is vegan so we had a number of questions. The place feels really welcoming and laid back. We were pleasantly surprised by the price too!nA great welcome back to Indian food and will definitely be going back - thanks Own Masala!
10/10! I can’t wait to come back.. we took garlic naan, roti, mix vegetarian plate, palak paanir, malai kofta.. everything was perfect!
Delicious food with excellent customer service. Best Indian food in bay of plenty. We were there during very busy hour and without prior booking but manager managed to get a nice table, made sure we had our dinner nice and warm. Thank you owm masala family.
