Very friendly staff, clean amenities and nice sites. The fake grass is a nice touch. Ocean view sites looked lovely. Arrived late and only stayed one night but we'd definitely come back again. Seemed like a very good place to explore Auckland area from. Thanks for the two cans of coke ;
The basic cabins need renovating! At $80 to $90 per night these cabins are not nice at all. The ceiling is covered in mould and spiderwebs, the carpets and walls are stained and dirty and the room had so much air freshener sprayed we could barely breathe! Despite having fans on all night we couldn't get rid of the overpowering smell.nnThe window close to the ceiling is covered in cobwebs and so high up we couldn't close it, it also doesn't have a curtain. So as soon as we turned the lights on in the evening the room was filled with bugs! Then you get woken up by the morning sun shining directly onto your bed and face blinding you from 6am. Not to mention the busy road noise directly behind the cabins often making the cabins shake.nnWe brought our own bedding as it's not provided but the bed sheet that was there was stained with all sorts of stains and was just gross.nnThe staff are wonderful, we've stayed here a few times and its the main thing that has us coming back. The location by the front of the beach is lovely - but the cabins are on the main road so bring your ear plugs and eye masks!nnI just wish they would renovate these cabins and at least make them hygienic and comfortable. There is no need for carpets - and please put a curtain on the top window and a way guests can close it themselves so they're not eaten by mosquitoes all night.
First experience staying at this holiday park, the lovely grounds lady and men who take pride in there job to keep the place clean, my standard cabin was ok, the TV aerial needed to be screwed into the TV propley cause it kept coming out, the power plug in my cabin probably needs to be fixed cause it wasn't working propley, one of the lights in the cabin needs fixing cause it kept flickering and was annoying , a bit of Ants in my cabin... But close to kitchen and other amenities.. unlimited fiber wifi would be great also, Fans for the cabins to keep cool even in the muggy weather. Other then that id experience another stay and may book for the glamping tents
The amenities at this camp are top notch. We parked on a powered site our solar didn't get enough sun. Short stay just overnight but would recommend for family holidays.nIf you're NZMCA members don't book online, pay when you get there and you'll get a discount.
Just returned from our third annual stay at Orewa. We travel in a Campervan and have a favourite spot which suits so well. We have a dog and find the access to the beach and pathways is just perfect. Always receive a friendly greeting from reception who go out of their way to answer any questions. Will return
