Great shaded camp grounds.nAmenities spotless.nSo close to everything you need all within walking distance. 15 min walk to town slowly.nBeautiful golden sandy beach front. We are heading back soon and will stay longer.

Hard to rate….. 2 stars, this is purely for location and the staff who were working there, were trying their best and nice people.nnUnfortunately this holiday park isn’t what it once was, it is terribly run down. The artificial turf sites are horrendous and the artificial turf has deteriorated so much the turf rubber under the artificial grass has turned in to black rubber dust which is horrific to smell and also creates a huge mess in tent / caravan / bedding… everything.nnIt’s likely a health concern, can’t be good to inhale.nnWhen it rains, expect pooling in your site, as a majority of sites had worn ground that puddled after showers and expect to do a lot of cleaning, more than usual compared to other campgrounds, due to rubber dust that gets everywhere.nnSadly, we won’t be visiting this campground again until they do some maintenance. Such a shame for a premium location! Auckland Council have a lot to answer for here.nnStrongly recommend you visit before booking, the online booking system is mud and check the condition of the turf on the site you get given before booking at this campground.

We have come to Orewa campground for years now with our family using a combination of cabin and powered campsites. We love it here and it gets better and better each year with improvements and upgrades. The team here are so lovely, friendly and helpful. The location cannot be topped with access to beautiful orewa beach and the local shops. Highly recommend!!!

The only great thing is the location. The view over the bay is gorgeous, lots of restaurants and cafes nearby, close to a supermarket. Around half an hour drive to CBD if lucky with the traffic.nnGood BBQ and dining areas, nice kitchen, spacious sites for RVs.nnCoffee trailer on-site.nnHowever the park is run but Auckland council so they try to save on costs badly. Staff looks very tired, though is very friendly and helpful.nnFacilities are not in a good state. Male toilet has a strong stench of urine which the staff desperately tries to fight with deodorants, but it is still gross. Shower doors miss latches, TP is thin as, etc. Trash bins are full and stink. Wifi is very weak and has only 250MB available for free.nnTent and RV sites are covered with artificial grass, which is nice, but they are uneven and dirty. Also turn into pools after a rain. All covered with some sort of small black grains of soil or plants, not too sure but it gets everywhere.nnThe worst part is the guests at peak time. It is really crowded with lots of unattended kids running around, people just wondering through your site freely, smashing the tent pegs, etc.

Great location and close to the beach. All the facilities you need and cleaned regularly.nTented on a regular non beachfront site but great views of the ocean and beach: great size sites and ground was fine with minimal lumps. Will definitely be back
