Had the best experience at Labtests Orewa this morning, the phlebotomist was so lovely, she put me at ease and managed to do the impossible, given my run and hide veins, taking one needle stick to get what was needed I had downed 2 litres of water so that probably helped and I did not even feel the needle go in. Thank you for your excellent service. The updated interior looks great too. Regards Maxine
Despite queues out the door on a Saturday morning, the staff get through the queue with efficiency & competence. It’s a repetitive job but they do it with a smile. Simon is amazing. He has been doing this for years and he knows I get anxious so he distracts me with small talk. Before you know it, it’s done!
You end up waiting for an hour or more to get your blood test. Would be nice if they had separate spaces for those who aren't sick and just want a general check-up, as I almost always end up sick the day or two after having a blood test. Have been questioned for wanting a butterfly needle multiple times, with some staff implying I shouldn't need one and questioning my reasons. Didn't appreciate the woman making jokes about being a vampire and wanting to take someone's blood when she came out to call the next number, when some patients are already nervous.
Pathetic. Been there twice. Nurse was basically rude and spoke in riddles to make me leave as the queue was effectively out the door. She wouldn't say how long the wait might be and instead started counting the number of people on her screen .nnUnhelpful rude and won't be going back.
Really disappointed, my 10 year old sons first blood test I had to tell the young nurse to stop as she was prodding and hurting him so much. Left with both arms bruised and a very trumitised mum and scared boy. A terrible experience for a first timer!!
