I’ve visited this place for takeaway before, but this was my first time bringing my family in for a sit-down meal, and it was absolutely fantastic! The menu is impressive and the owner is incredibly welcoming. If you’re uncertain about what to choose, don’t hesitate to ask for recommendations, the owner has great suggestions. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very fair. Their fish and chips, along with other seafood dishes are truly the best. I can’t wait to return.
Oppies has award-winning fish and chips as well as a large selection of seafood and Chinese food. All of the meals I've eaten have been authentic, delicious, and plentiful. Dining in or takeaway are good options.nThe service is prompt, and the restaurant is clean. It may be very busy at peak times because Oppies Restaurant's food is excellent and a great value for the quality.
This is hands down the best fish and chips shop in Rotorua! Owners Michael and Winnie are passionate about the food they create, and their warm hospitality makes every customer feel like a friend. Not only do the locals love their food, but it’s also a favorite among tourists and even celebrities. My personal favorite is the fish and lamb soup—it’s incredibly fresh and delicious. The restaurant also offers a variety of authentic Chinese dishes to choose from. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Rotorua! Conveniently located on the popular Fenton Street, the restaurant also provides parking at the back for easy access.
originally thought it was just a fish and chips shop, but once I walked in, I realized it was an impressive seafood restaurant which also sells fish and chips.nThe owner is from Hong Kong, and the seafood is prepared in Cantonese and Sichuan styles. It’s fresh, delicious, and served in generous portions, though the prices are a bit on the higher side.nnWe ordered live oysters 6pieces $40, Kina steamed eggs $55, fresh Black Gold Abalone $168, fish and Lamb soup $42, combination fried rice $25 and seafood fried noodles $30.nThe owner is very friendly, if you’re staying in Watorua, it’s worth a try.
Delicious fish and chips today here, the best I’ve had in NZ! I was served by a very friendly man, possibly the owner. Very good price too. Really tasty fish and chips!
