The soup and noodles tasted rather strange as the noodles were pretty chewy and the broth that came with the soup tasted bland and artificial. The chips were really soft and the batter was separating from the fish. The rice we ordered for the fried rice tasted like it had no flavour and was also dry not moist at all. One worker tricked us to move tables and claimed it had more room when the whole time it didn’t. It was really disappointing compared to the last time we came which was last year!!! The whole place is going down hill.
The noodles were kind of strange and chewy but the brother and wontons were good. The fries were kind of soggy as the chef probably didn’t use a high enough temperature. The fried rice and the chicken was very good though.
Shop looks pretty good with Western style like fish and chips store. Clean and neat. Service is good and those who are chinese or cantonese speaking, they definitely can speak. Food selection between Western and Chinese and alot of options. Selected mixed seafood, mixed chinese noodle and black pepper beef. Mixed seafood and chinese noodle nice only black pepper beef is salty.
Went there to have Hot and Sour Fish Soup with Pickled Greens. It cost $75 dollars. Also we had steak and eggs with fries.nThis is a restaurant with traditional Chinese food and western food . Surprisingly, they won the best fries award back in 2011, so I had to order some fries to try. After trying the fries. I must admit it is very good. And understand why they won. It is so crispy from outside to inside yet u can feel the softness of the potatoes inside, the temperature is just right and it is very tasty.nnAnyway, back to the fish, it is very authentic , but for 75 dollars I expected more ingredients such as potatoes noodles, sprouts etc.nnFor the steak, it is so so , the quality of the steak is not great, thus it is a bit chewy. But I needed protein so I order this.nnCan’t wait to try their other food !
Highly recommend this restaurant. Tried their red snapper fish n chips, fresh oysters, pork belly fried rice and the . . Never expected to have such good level of Chinese food in NZ. The oyster is fresh too.
