Really relaxed atmosphere. What to do isn't exactly clear but easy enough if you ask/know how the system works. Staff super friendly. Building could use a little maintenance but overall, not bad. The meats tasted amazing and was overall a good experience.
Sorry but I am giving a one star as the food was a minimal selection and desert was one option of chocolate fudge slice like the supermarket one. Was not impressed at spending $35 per head for basic food to cook myself. We will not be returning or recommending.
Such a beautiful restaurant, very friendly and welcoming and the food was to die for. Hotpot and bbq pork belly, beef, lamb, prawns, all you can eat. We will be back with our staff. Thank you so much. Oh and the Peach soju, yummy.
The instructions is so unclear, didn't explain so we chose Buffet + Hot Pot. Buffet $35 + Hotpot $35 Choose both +$10 Extra lamb +$10 Total $90 for 2 people We both didnt eat lamb but they charged extra lamb without asking us. Since we are confused with the system, and have to pay first place . So we dont know until they put the whole lamb in the table. So could say, service is bad Food is overal OK But the choises of the food so little. We saw in the picture or advertised there are so many option especially fish ball and stuff. But there is not much. Dessert just a chocolate cookie. And there was no rice, the miso soup is package, and hotpot soup was bland i mean really bland. Sorry for the family business, but $90 for 2 people is not worth the money. Felt like ripped off.
Not what they Advertise TV as you enter above Cashier indicates nothing like what you'll receive Meat freshness is questionable Meat tasted like it was oxidized/unfresh/frozen Had to ask for new paper, other places engage with Customers and use thier initiate Selection is very poor Desert sign was out yet no Desert Cleanliness short of third world standards Staff more engaged with thier Smart phones Signs everywhere with a tone that stressed the 'Experience' Nothing good for $45....total waste, wouldn't recommend...there are better places on Rotorua Very mindful it's tough times for everyone, but this place really is Misleading in its intentions and Public Relations Simply dont bother...support a more worthy and engaged eatery
Worth a visit for the experience but nothing that spectacular. The DIY shared hotpot was fun to do and definitely worth trying. It was actually good that they had quite a variety frozen veggies, meat, fish, and other seafood. The only thing is that it seemed like they were kept frozen for ages, and for me it looked bad. Although when everything was put into the soup it still tasted great. Overall it was still a pleasant experience.
Wasnt bad, but no buffet, cook your own, they advetise buffet. And dessert was a chocolate biscut no ice cream not good enough, change your menu on the website
It's a great restaurant where has Korean BBQ buffet and Chinese Sichuan spicy hot pot with more than 50 kinds of food just 25$. There is tap beer 500ml only 6$ ! Clean and spacious space and awesome food I like here and will come again !
BBQ and hotpot buffet, $32per adult. Good variety of food; meat, vegetable, fish balls, tofu, small whole fish to grill, korean tea and ice cream. Friendly and helpful staff.
First of all we are from Auckland in Rotorua for a few days and we are Korean BBQ Regulars and have been to a lot of different restaurants fusion or not fusion. first off service was appalling a gentlemen at first didn't want to answer a couple of questions about if we could order fish and chips as well and was told straight out NO!!!! and flogged off to a women. how rude!! We are not rude people and 2 of my older children left and went to another Korean BBQ place around the corner and they had all dishes, sides everything like Auckland. Family House you are so rude service was real bad and you left the meat area and the salad area empty for so long that you didn't have enough dishes for the crowd you had. It was a disappointment for the money we paid and the group we had also. I rang ahead of time to book and was told I didn't need to just arrive. Rice was old and the meat was so frozen it stuck together. Back in Auckland we also had cooked food as well as frozen, clean and separated easy to cook. Dessert was Ice Cream... this place was a waste of money don't bother to enter go to the other places not far from each other around the corner. Feedback from Family House Restaurant whatever you say is going to be rude as well from reading the feedback on the customers reviews. Don't even bother to go to this place at all. I didn't want to give a gold star as well but it wouldn't let me post unless I did. so ignore the GOLD STAR
