Story

One Tree Hill College is a state coeducational secondary school located in the district of Ellerslie in Auckland, New Zealand. One Tree Hill College, formerly Penrose High School, opened on 1 February 1955. In 2013 it has a student body of 930 consisting of more than 40 different cultures. The governing body for the college since 1989 has been the One Tree Hill College Board of Trustees. It provides curriculum, discipline and financial oversight but day-to-day management of the college, within the board's policy framework, is handled by the principal and the senior leadership team.HistoryPenrose takes its name from Penrose Farm carved out of about 400ha (1000 acres) of land purchased by Cornishman William Williams from the Maori owners in 1843.Williams (1806–1876), not related to the Anglican missionary of the same name, named the farm after Penrose Farm in the parish of Budock, Cornwall, where he is thought to have been born (though there is no record of this) and where his father was allegedly bailiff. According to Williams it was the ‘best farm in Budock, and the best in all Cornwall’.Research by foundation principal Ron Stacey reveals the property on which Penrose High School stands originally formed part of land granted to James Haldane Watt, a settler, on 10 December 1847. When he died in 1876 he left it to his two sons, Robert Henry Watt and David Bruce Watt. It was later mortgaged to Alfred Greatback Glover who gained ownership in 1884 after the Watts defaulted. It was later let to Jane Board of Ellerslie and sold to her in 1896. The land was later subdivided.

A student by the name of Meadow helped me when I stumbled at the train station, very lovely girl and shows that school teaches great manners and respect! Bravo!
Beautiful school excellent staff i remember when it was called Penrose highschool...
I enjoyed the learning, and my teachers were good. But some more discipline for the immature, sometimes blatantly discriminative young heathens would not go astray.
I'm still new and I've only been there for 3 weeks?? Yet it seems like a very wonderful place, many people are focused while others are there having the best time of their lives. There seem to be an infinite amount of things you can learn and seeing others older people just make you want to do better because well they're kinda intimidating! Sorry but they're probably wonderful people.
My former art teacher female and head of art department female were horrible to myself and peers, deleting our work, making up false claims to villainize me and my friend, forcefully changing my work despite it being appropriate and following the rules and guidelines so they cause me to give this school a lower rating, however the nurses, psychologist/counsellors, female tech teachers, tourism teachers, english and health teachers, Ms Kitchen my former math teacher and my favourite teacher aid, Scott - you guys made my high school experience better than I expected. Send your kids here if you can, its the best decision you could make for them.
Beautiful school grounds friendly families although some parents do seem to speed needlessly. Which is quite dangerous. Otherwise great school facilities
I would've otherwise given a 5... The service was great!... However, I was fairly disappointed that the office staff weren't wearing masks, as they are the first point of contact, so meet different people every day... Just food for thought...
