Wow! We were so surprised by this place. The tunnels are amazing and the views around are just pure wow. A very nice walk and you can discover real gem places. Highly recommended when it's a good weather
Beautiful view of Rangitoto Island! No blue sky today but I can imagine it being very beautiful when it’s not overcast! The climb up here is not bad. You can drive to the parking lot and walk up the hill!
Always a good time to walk around the hill, you will be rewarded with a neat view of the region and beyond! The extra bonus is to walk along the coast, at low tide preferably, to reach a small beach for the love of peacefulness.
Beautiful place to go for a walk or a picnic. Fun exploring the tunnels with a bit of historical appreciation thrown in. Friends or family visiting Auckland, need to get a tour and the best part is that it's free. Parking can be a challenge on a good day as it's limited, that just means a bit more of a walk from the bottom.
Nice walkway with magnificent views across Auckland harbour in all directions. Interesting historical site with gun enplacements and bunkers that you can walk through. Very well set up with information boards explaining the history.
Good eye sight of whole city centre. But before we came this car is parked as the gate locked already around 8:30pm the time we arrived. But after our walk 3- 4 cars parked that is locked. which seen on board 06:00am open 10:00pm closed. This is very inconvenience and hoping some improvement in near future.
Love this place on a nice day. I rode there from Birkenhead on… yes an e-bike. Great views of Auckland from the top and great place to take the kids for a walk.
What a day for it. The sun was out, the views and a great day. Highly recommend to go here if you have the chance. Lots of history and signs to tell you about it.

It's a wonderful location. You get to see the lovely Auckland city skyline. Lovely place to visit with family and children. It's also a historic site with tunnels and plenty of play area for children. The views are stunning both day and night. I usually visit for a picnic on the weekends. If you don't have a vehicle, you can get a ferry from the city to Devonport. Parking facilities available. Toilet facilities available. Very clean and we'll maintained. Lovely little town nearby and you get everything from restaurants, grocery stores, museum, library and many more. I recommend you to visit this lovely place if you are in Auckland.
