National Poetry Day is a NZ-wide celebration of poetry, that takes place every year on the fourth Friday of August.
Welcome to the National Poetry Day Facebook page. National Poetry Day is a NZ-wide celebration of poetry, in association with the NZ Book Awards Trust and Phantom Billstickers.
The National Administrator is Jacqui Hammond. Anyone can register to run an event in their community for Phantom Billstickers National Poetry Day, which falls on the final Friday of August each year. Registrations for events open in March and close in May. Seed-funding is available to support events that will promote New Zealand poetry to New Zealand communities. The calendar of events launches at the start of August so people can start planning how they will get involved in what the New Zealand poetry scene has to offer.
In 2019 National Poetry Day falls on Friday August 23rd. Registrations for the calendar of events close 5pm, Wednesday 22 May.
