Very clean and tidy. Wonderful people with a ready smile, easy to talk with and ask anything of. Smells fresh and inviting, too tempting not to go in and you'd be silly if you leave your money at home! I'll be the first, oh look I am the first to get the freshest of custard filled doughnuts!
Steak Cheese & Jalapeño Pies, 5/5 Mt. Eden Bakery
Classic kiwi style bakery. Has everything you need. If you are feeling a bit sad or depressed, go there and get a pie and V and walk up mount Eden and have a solo picnic as you watch the sunset over Tāmaki Makaurau. Vegetarian options available and tasty
Really friendly service from all staff, disappointing $6 steak and cheese pie. Genuinely didn't seem to have any cheese inside, they told me they use cheese sauce, and replaced it.
Bought lunch from here, the smoke fish pie was okay wasnt the best, the pieces of fried fish looked very dry & over battered under the oven light.
Usually, this is my favorite place to go, but after having two of their pizza breads today, it tasted awful. Taste like a used sponge and had that smell of an unclean microwave. Not sure what happened, but that will be the last time I'll ever go here again. Still nice people. But after that experience, I cannot imagine what other hazards they have in their food.
Rude and bad customer service. Not coming back as you wish. I guess they are doing it deliberately to get what they want. What a shame!
Hi guys, This is Thomas from Germany and I got my first meatpie today. It was a mouth watering experience. So tasty and sooo delicious. And special thanks to the girl who served us, she was so nice and friendly and gave us a gratis spinach/mushroom pie which also was very delicious. Thanks for the warm welcome and all the best for your bakery.
If you stay around for a few days or even longer you should make this your morning coffee. The ladies are outstanding friendly and welcoming! Prices are fair and the food is quite good! Worth a try.
Steak & Cheese pie $5.50 Bacon quiche $5.50 Cream donut $3.50 The quiche had too much pastery, not enough filling. Double layered pastery, probably zero cheese. Closer to a bacon and egg pie?? There is a specific cheese to egg ratio to make it a quiche. At least the birds liked it, cause I didnt. Not impressed for the price. Was so excited to slam back a Sunday quiche... fail! Steak and cheese pie was a nice and hearty!! The gravey was delicious, not jelly, liked it a lot. My only complaint is bakeries tend to cheap out on cheese, once again. More of a steak pie but good. Cream donut was yummy, just a bit small. Really wanted to like this place as it’s closer to where I live and parking was easy on a Sunday. Drive a few extra k’s down to the french bakery in Mt Eden Village and you will get the same food at the same prices but a lot better. And they make an awsome quiche, though parking can be troublesome.
