My wife and I popped in for a spot of lunch. We ordered a couple of dishes, and every single one was excellent. Service was great , we weren't left waiting for anything too long. We didn't have any of the drinks , but they did have quite a selection! Highly recommend this place.
We had a delicious meal at Mr. Go's. The food came quite quickly - and on arrival was very tasty. We had a Fish & a Pork Belly bao bun, then, to share, the Tamarind Prawns tasty - but quite spicy, the Popcorn Chicken a classic done well and the Pork Fried Rice a fantastic opener. The cocktails were also great - some come in unique vessels which is fun, but pick based on taste rather than looks. For dessert we had the Coconut Mess and the Deep-Fried Ice Cream. The Deep-Fried Ice Cream was delicious, but I felt the ice cream could have been a little colder, and the batter a little hotter to really capture what is great about the dessert staple. That said, the honey sauce with which it was prepared was phenomenal, and more than made up for the very minor temperature short-coming. Staff were friendly and helpful, and as I said the food was brought to the table in a timely manner. I would highly recommend eating at Mr. Go's.
Having heard of Mr Go's from my Wellington based family we decided to pop in on a whim for a family lunch. We were seated promptly and ordered drinks and a selection of dishes to share as we were advised. Everything was stunningly beautiful and gorgeously fresh! We ordered Bao buns, Tamarind Prawns, Pork Dumplings, Green Beans and the infamous KungPao Cauliflower I Highly Recommend!! We look forward to returning again soon!
Excellent service and food. The plates look very simple, but they have incredible flavors. I'm definitely coming back for more.
Every dish here really hit the mark! We loved all of the food and the staff were very nice. Definitely worth a visit and we'll be coming back for sure Food: 5/5
Super quick service and amazing food. 50% is for bookings and the other 50% for walk ins, we booked for 5pm and glad we did as it filled up pretty quick. Really well priced for portion size, food was delicious. Theres good variety for dietary requirements, am vegan so recommended the kung pau cauliflower and popcorn tofu. Rest of the table had loaded kimchi fries, fish, pork&chicken bao. Great service&excellent food, will def be back Vegetarian options: Loads of options
One of the better modern Asian/fusion places I’ve been to here, for sure. Here’s a quick rundown: - The tamarind prawns were to die for especially loving that good heat from actual chilli!, - The baos were interesting but I thought mine could’ve done with a bit more sauce, - Taiwanese fried chicken tasted nothing like real Taiwanese fried chicken but it was good on its own nonetheless, - Vege stir fry bok choy was not too shabby but a little too much on the vinegar-y and greasy side for me, - The husband enjoyed the cream cheese wontons, and I do agree it packed good flavour but it wasn’t my fave - Drinks were amazing!
Visited Mr Go's for dinner. It is quite crowded during dinner time. The prawn toast was alright. Pork Belly Gua Bao is a sweet, tender chunk of pork belly sandwiched between two steamed mantou-like buns. It was also alright. The menu is a mix of cuisines from different parts of Asia and there is also a seasonal part of the menu which features different regions. It is recommended to visit the place as a group where you can share more dishes and drinks. I feel it is not the ideal place for solo dining.
Excellent food and great offers. We had happy hour beer and bao and tried out the Korean fried chicken, mustard greens & general Tsos chicken. All flavours were great, the greens in particular were delicious. The fact there's regional variations of food is really cool and it was pretty reasonable all things considered, we had drinks including cocktails a main each and sides for about $90 Delicious quality food and nice service. Recommend!
Amazing vegan options and versions of Asian cuisine with bold and interesting flavours. I'm not a salad person but had the nori and avocado salad and it was SENSATIONAL. Fun atmosphere and lovely cocktails in adorable tiki mugs. Top spot for vegans in Wellington.Food: 5/5
