Probably my favourite part of seeing the motat museum. It's so great to see these old planes restored. Like the way they've integrated modern tech and touch exhibits for children. Only thing we would like to see as tourists,is inside some of the exhibits? You don't need a full restore,but seeing cockpits or seating areas on commercial planes would be cool.
Awesome aviation museum. The staff has very intimate knowledge about these planes with a bit of personal history.nnSpent about 1 hour at this museum. The other exhibits that you take the train to see were more kid friendly.nnGreat place to spend a rainy day!
Fantastic place to see iconic New Zealand aircraft from Royal New Zealand Air Force and civilian airlines. Plus the innovators of aviation in New Zealand all in one place fantastic display very wheelchair friendly getting right up to the exhibits and onto the mezzanine floor and the lift.
We caught the free tram from the MOTAT main campus. It is basically a giant warehouse with some very big planes inside. I am sure this will be really interesting to some kids, but it was pretty boring for my kids.
A beautifully presented space with lots to see and learn. There was plenty to keep everyone busy for a solid hour. The children loved being able to climb into the helicopter and press all the buttons. We thoroughly enjoyed the video presentation too! A great visit all round!
