Morningside Tavern

The Perfect place for our engagement party over the weekend. We had the use of part of the Outdoor Courtyard, absolutely beautiful - hanging lights on the ceiling, great space for 90 people to sit, stand, mingle and dance. We brought in a few decorations which worked so well with the space. Jodie and her team were awesome throughout the lead up and during the event - communicating with us about our bar tab, food and anything else we needed. We also had a little pop up bar in the courtyard which was so cute! made it easier for guests to grab drinks throughout the night instead of heading inside. Food was fabulous - we had finger food and pizzas. Overall an awesome place to have our engagement party. We had the best time and so did our guests. Highly recommend!!

Came here to watch the world cup and the availability of screens made watching enjoyable. The food and beer selection is expansive the Mac and cheese was amazing! and the location is good with many public transit options nearby.

Amazing place, 10/10!nCame here last night for beers with friends and loved the vibes — big screen showing rugby, great atmosphere, and solid beer selection.nnWe came back in the morning looking for a lost bag of merch and sunglasses, and the awesome staff had kept everything safe for us. It had gifts for friends and family back in the US, so we were so grateful!nnWe stayed for lunch and I’m so glad we did — the lamb roast was incredible some of the best I’ve ever had and the Yorkshire pudding was out of this world. My girlfriend’s salad was super fresh and tasty too.nnHuge shoutout to Tommy, who went above and beyond — from helping us recover our stuff to making great menu recommendations and being incredibly welcoming.nnNext time we’re in New Zealand, this spot will be at the top of our list!

Most enjoyable Sunday Lunch experience, variety and quality of food was excellent, staff friendly and very accommodating. Superb beverage options however no tea or coffee available. Parking was challenging but was expected due to the usual busy Sunday cafe trade.nHighly recommend the Fish Tacos and Kumara Fries, absolutely delicious!nWill definitely visit again. Thanks! 5

I was not impressed with the service. I went for a sports game and was late but did have a friend say that there were 4 of us coming when he arrived and a worker said this was fine. Therefore, we were all of the impression I could join. I arrived after a very chaotic morning which was why I was late and got asked to leave when I arrived as they had more walk ins that arrived since then. This does not sound like great organisational skills on their end and was disappointing as it led to missing the game and having a lengthy drive for a World Cup semi final which I didn’t get to watch during a working morning. I hope this doesn’t happen again for other people and expect better communication. I won’t be back again.
