Monte Cecilia Park is a beautifully maintained and welcoming space for the whole community. I visited for the first time, three weeks ago during our @FreeFit_Auckland training session, and I was genuinely impressed.nnThe park is very popular for walking, especially with dogs on leash, and it’s easy to see why. The grounds are well cared for, peaceful, and perfect if you’re wanting a tranquil walk and some time out in nature. There are clean public toilets available, which is always appreciated.nnOne of the highlights was seeing an Auckland Council van set up as a relaxed community space, with instruments, games, picnic blankets, and a really lovely “come and be” vibe. Such a thoughtful touch that adds to the sense of connection, mindfulness, mental wellness and wellbeing.nnThere’s also a café/restaurant where you can grab takeaway coffee or a bite to eat, plus a gelato spot that’s clearly a favourite. After our training session, it was lovely to enjoy a little post-workout treat.nnParking is fairly limited, so I would highly recommend arriving early. We had no trouble finding a park for our 8:30am fitness workout start, but by the time we finished, the car park was full and people were waiting for parking spots.nnOverall, a fantastic, free-to-visit park that’s peaceful, community-focused, and well loved. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a calm, scenic place to walk, train, or simply relax outdoors.
Excellent and popular off-leash area for dogs. There's enough room for dogs, people and NZ flora and fauna in this wonderful park. No additional regulations are required for efficient safe use for all - there is no need to fix something that is not broken.
This park is fantastic on a sunny day. There is a nice loop to walk and a cafe too. I like to bring my dog here and many others do as well, probably not the best place for you if you don't want to encounter off lead dogs. Just a warning though, parking is VERY difficult. The lot is often full and it will be hard to get a spot during peak hours so plan accordingly.
Monte Cecilia Park offers a peaceful and accessible outdoor experience with ample parking space and a convenient comfort room located near the parking area. The park features inviting picnic grounds, perfect for gatherings, and a scenic walking trail that allows visitors to enjoy nature at its best. The green spaces and natural surroundings make it a great spot to relax and reconnect with nature, making it an excellent choice for a family outing or a quiet retreat.
Great park for smaller dogs. Relatively safe in the bowl area as you can keep a watch on them! My pup absolutely loves this park and can run around safely under supervision.
