Mokaba Café

Good coffee, beautiful art being exhibited, but an overcooked poached egg left me feeling a bit disappointed. The toast was sadly underdone. It’s a decent enough cafe but very draughty. The service was warm though! Very welcoming. There were free papers to peruse and the vast outdoor seating would likely be lovely in Summer.

Good food at a good price. The only difficulty is that there is no table service so you need to queue up to order if it's busy. Pretty relaxed atmosphere.

Food is great, big serving. Ambience is nice. Al fresco dining. Will definitely dine again when I come back here at WhangareiFood: 5/5

Excellent Cafe next door to the Hundertwasser Art Centre in Whangarei. We were able to book a table for a large group and pre-order our food. Great service and big portions of food. Entrance is via the water side, if the Shop by the carpark is not open. Lovely coffee too

Always busy here and have only been to buy coffee before today but we thought we would try something for brunch.. we both got the B.L.A.T that comes with chips on the side.. a little dry and basically a half of avocado just on top of everything else maybe could of been spread out? The bread was very crusty and dry and bacon was also hard and dry but it was ok. Iced coffee was the highlight though. Mango smoothie could do with some ice or be a lot more chilled as it was quite warm. Staff are friendly and is mostly clean around the tables ect possibly would give 2.5 stars out of 5 for today.

I’m just in awe, if you want to have the experience of the life time go to Mokaba Cafe. The staff are brilliant, warm and joyful. I was greeted by this amazing lady and asked her what she recommends as it was my first time going there and wow just wow her reference she gave me was amazing, food was cooked superbly and I highly recommend going there for a first date or just a chill day out. The price is so affordable, I got myself a large hot chocolate and a lovely breakfast to go with it for only $25!!!

Came here for breakfast this Saturday morning, about a half-hour after opening. Not busy, and plenty of parking still available. My son is allergic to dairy and eggs, and the staff were very helpful with our questions about allergens. I ordered the eggs benedict with bacon. Eggs were poached perfectly, bacon was crispy and not burnt. I'm personally not a fan of mesclun /rocket on my eggs bene. Everyone else loved their food. They have indoor and outdoor sheltered seating which we made use of. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free menu is available and staff will help with allergen questions

Really yummy food, was quite busy as we got there right on 12pm. Wait time wasn't too bad despite most tables being full. Outdoor seating is nice and sheltered. Cute art gallery at the back to browse after lunch.Food: 5/5

Nice spacious place to eat, very busy so pick your time wisely. Food was delicious, place is in a lovely location by the water, nice and clean, staff could have probably smiled abit more but all goods. I'd definitely be back, but Its not a place I'd visit on the regular.Food: 5/5

With the great presentation of the food, how delicious it was and the excellent staff, Mokaba has left us with such a perfect impression, especially since we visited as 4 generations of our family, 5yrs,30yrs, 55yrs and 85yrs. We wanted a place to celebrate these milestones. Thankyou.Food: 5/5
