My father is a big fan of the Stoke "Dark", and I am rather fond of the Pilsner - so when deciding on where to go for dinner, this was an obvious choice! We arrived and took a round of beers out into the spacious beer garden to catch the last of the sun. Plenty of seating and a nice relaxed atmosphere. The beers were cold and delicious. We then went in to dine, We ordered the chicken taco sharing platter as an entrée, and this was fine, my only complaint was the the chicken was a little overcooked, with the crumbed coating tasting a little burnt, crunchy and dry. The tacos were fresh and soft as were the vegetables. I then ordered the Fish and Chips, as did my father, while my wife ordered the Thai Mussels. Again, a little bit of a shame as the batter on my fish was a little overdone, I suspect the oil in the deep fryer was a little too hot. My father had the same but his fish was grilled, so didn't have the issue with the batter. The fish was blue cod and was fresh and tasty. The chips were chunky, crisp and tasty and the salad was the perfect accompaniment. My wife enjoyed the mussels, the coconut thai sauce really complimented the mussels, which were of a good size, fresh and perfectly cooked. The venue is nice and relaxing, with views through the windows of the brewery, and the toilets were tidy and easily accessible. While the batter on my fish was a little overdone, I am still giving this 4 stars as the rest of the experience was good.
My week. a walk x3 weights x3 Wachangi beer whenever. Working so far, the beer is great.
It was good but long wait hot chocolate and caraml latte could be a lot hotter as they were just under lukewarm and food was good but chips came out cold please fox this and their wasn't much on the menu
Friendly service and good food. There is indoor seating and a beer garden if it's a good day. Prices are good and they do a brunch menu which ends at 11. It's a good option for a Sunday when other cafe/restaurants in Richmond are closed.
Sunday 27th Jan 2019. Popped in for a late lunch after a long drive. Tasty food accompanied by a delightful selection beer for you to choose from. Ended up getting the poutine and spiced chicken wings and the Stoke Nelson Pale Ale NPA. All so delicious! Great service a d relaxing atmosphere too! I do recommend.
It's my first review on google, because here was horrible. Here's worst of worst in NZ. The beer and cider was great. But all the food tasted like frozen food. Fried squid was too much salty, chicken wings just no taste and only crispy. Pizza....it's just like a pizza flavor bread. And the staff response was very unkindly. I ordered Dark beer for takeaway by the plastic bottle and she gave me IPA with grumpy. If you want to waste money and you want to ruin your tongue, go for it.
Great atmosphere, friendly Staff, Awesome Food and Drink. Highly Recommended A +
I had a wonderful birthday lunch at McCashins yesterday with my family and friends and it was a lovely experience for everyone. The food and drinks were delicious and the staff were wonderful.
The mussels were yummy and so was the tasting beer/ cider! The staff were really friendly too!
What a great place to spend a rainy Sunday afternoon. Excellent product. Great friendly bar staff. And thanks to Tim in the kitchen for the great food. You were right about the seafood pizza. Aunty Shirley loved her favourite salt and pepper squid.
