Matt Connell Wines (open by appointment)

Wow! Just back from an amazing experience. My husband and I have been fans of Matt’s wine for a few years now but we took two friends not familiar with MC wines to join in on the experience. They were blown away, as were we too, at being able to spend time hearing about the process from grape to bottle. This included tasting from the barrels of the future wines, before entering the newly furnished tasting room in the delightful cottage. Matt is one of a kind! A wonderful wine maker and a generous and informative host. This is a must do in this region.

What an amazing experience! Matt was a really great host, and clearly very passionate about what he does. Although the tour will take you a bit of time it is well worth the investment. Matt’s knowledge of the Central Otago region is perfect for both first time visitor and local alike.nThe setting was also amazing, a lovely restored heritage home.nTo cap it all off, the wines are incredible. Exceptional expressions of what Central Otago has to offer.

Best wine tasting/tour in Central Otago. Matt is incredibly passionate and knowledgeable about wine and the region, and makes a delicious Pinot noir. Definitely make a booking, we will be back!
