Mangemangeroa Reserve

Came across this reserve unexpectedly and was very pleasantly surprised.nnFully covered bush walk on the path I took - the left side of the fork, 45 minutes to the main road, and next time I'll go the further 15 minutes to the beach. Nice and quiet, serene, suitable for beginner level stamina - perfect to get the heart rate elevated while not being exhausting.nnThere are signs along the path to provide you information with the different trees and plants, and what they're used for which was a bonus.nnI would go back to try the right path at the fork, which is also about a 45 minute walk.

Lovely place to have a little stroll while smelling the Manuka tree just guessing. Very picturesque, even a beginner like me attempt to take a fairly nice photos.

Late review - went on a walk in February 2026 - and the walk was long but good for the health ‍!nThe views were beautiful and nice n windy now n then. I loved the mix of stairs, boardwalks, and natural ground paths. Such a good experience and walk.nMy legs were numb lol. But definitely will return again! you should to KARAWHIUA!

Great walk. Only two stars short because it was so dark in some areas. Other than that, beautiful scenery

Nice solid walk , not too short but not very strenuous. Easily spend around 2 hours to get to cockle bay and back. Got at high tide or mid tide . For great views of the mangroves and estuary
