Mad Pot

It's been a while since I last commented on this popular hot pot restaurant. I became a fan of Mala Tang hot pot and Mala Xiang Guo dry hot pot thanks to my partner. You can customize your choices and quantities, deciding whether to have it with soup or not. Personally, I prefer Mala Xiang Guo for its richer mala spiciness and the full flavour of all the added ingredients. However, I also enjoy hot pot with soup.nnAs you can see in the attached picture, my partner and I always order one of each because we both love mala a lot but have different spice preferences - that's the main reason. We also order a serving of rice to share, increasing the overall portion size, also going very well with this spicy food.nnI visit this restaurant once a month as part of my regular routine, I love it. Their mala hot pots are highly recommended for those seeking Chinese hot and spicy cuisine in Albany.

Great tasting Mala Xiang Guo dry hot pot, but be warned that they are on the spicier side, so would recommend ordering rice to go with them.

Note: the name of this restaurant is MAD POT for anyone confused. My go-to mala restaurant on the shore. I come here quite often ever since my favourite mala place Chinese cuisine @ Corinthian closed down. They have a lot of variety of ingredients. Quality of meat can be somewhat inconsistent but never been bad. It’s also quite expensive compared to other mala places I’ve been to if you don’t control your portions. You can get as a tang soup or xiang guo dry. I recommend the medium spice level for someone who doesn’t tolerate spice too well but still enjoys a bit of a kick. Medium can sometimes be quite spicy depending on how much they put in Always get the iced lemon tea drink to ease the mala taste and cleanse your palette every bite!

Delicious Malatang! Veggies are so fresh, and the restaurant is really clean.

Yam! I’ve been here twice, Meal time is very busy usually and between lunch and dinner time was good to enjoy food. Will come again next time!
