"At the Mad Butcher we believe in quality meat at a great price – that’s why all our carcass beef and lamb is NZ Quality Mark certified, our carcass fresh pork is 100% NZ grown, and our chicken is supplied by New Zealand’s leading poultry brand: Tegel. All meat is delivered to stores fresh each day, and cut and packed on site by skilled staff. You can’t get much fresher than that! In-store Master Butchers are available to cut meat to any requirement, along with providing advice on everything meat, from cooking to carving tips. We’re passionate about meat, and our friendly service will make every visit to the Mad Butcher a pleasure."

The sausage and pork in the special $60 pack tasted really funky. Threw the whole pack out as we no longer have the receipt. None of the meat packs had expiry dates on them so you don't know if it is fresh or just the leftovers from last week's specials.

It's not always easy to find a place that calls itself a butcher shop and they actually cut their own meat. If that's what you're looking for, go here! Shane was great answering questions over the phone and she. I went in the next day he went above and beyond to help me get what I was looking for. The prices, quality, and selection are great. Incredible service. And they deliver! This is where I'll be buying my meat in New Plymouth from here on out!
What? I need to pay $5 extra for cutting the meat to small pieces? Nowhere in New Zealand this happens. Then why is the sign saying that they can help us to cut into the sizes we need for free. The lady in the billing counter is really helpful and thanks to her. Please take action on the person who is doing this day robbery. I will never go to this shop again.
