One of the new generation of properties lifting the game in New Zealand's holiday park market. Friendly staff, convenient location and an outstanding warm water pool and hydro slide complex complete with poolside bar and big screen. We had a spotless, modern four person cabin that was even equipped with a dishwasher and heated floors. They're pushing the boundaries with the pricing $550 per night for the cabin, low season but clearly haven't found them yet, judging by the mid-winter occupancy achieved during our stay.
We attended as a family of campers. As a campground the facilities are fantastic wverything you would want is available. The kids loved the thermal pool and water slides.nNote- The overnight price was in my opinion high for camping, this could have been due to attending over a long holiday weekend.nThe pool can be dangerous for young children as the depth drops sharply. They need to be watched closely.
We've been here a few times. I dont think we will be be back again. We don't have a full camp set up etc and for this reason booked an ensuite site.nnThe ensuite itself was lovely and spacious although as a family if you are in the shower your neighbour's will see your junk if youre in the shower and someone opens the door!!nnAlso the kitchen/bbq facilities are sub par for the amount of people using them. We tried to get in to cook dinner many times but the 2 kitchens for all those sites is just not enough. Not enough fridge/freezer space and not enough places to cook. We've stayed in much smaller top 10s who had bigger, more expansive dining and cooking facilitiesnnThe site was large. The ensuite was modern. I did tell the person on leaving the tiles are incredibly slippery when wet. My 5 year old narrowly missed a massive head knock when slipping leaving the shower. I also slipped too. No towels or mats are provided. We did have noisy neighbour's and altho we were given a number to call that's a bit awkward when everything is audible in a tent site.nnOverall our kids love the pools, facilities etc. But I don't think we would return anytime soon.
We arrived at 5:30PM with absolutely no experience how to set up a tent, then Pie and Shyia apologize if I spell your name wrong came. They already off work for the day but they decided to help me set up the tent. And it took them three hours to complete. My kids really enjoyed the camping so a big thanks to you!!! This is a perfect place for families with children, my daughter can’t wait for her next holiday for the warm-water swimming pool.
We camped on a powered site for 7 nights. Great site size but noted some sites would be too small for our campsite set up.nGreat staff and always willing to help.nLittle shop at reception for ice creams, milk and all your usual items needed for camping and self contained units.nPlenty to keep kids entertained... Mini putt, scooter park, peddle buggy's, jumping pillows, playground, outdoor chess and sensory room. The 'games room' was lacking with several games not working.nThe facilities were good with kitchens, stoves, ovens, toasters, bbq's, laundry, picnic tables, family bathrooms and single showers along with bathroom blocks. A good mix and good number of bathrooms and showers.nThe pool and hydro slides were fantastic, with cafe, hot food and drinks. Great cocktails and beverage options. Warm pool, movies on the big screen daily and plenty of sun beds. Only negative was not being able to take your own bottle of water into the pool area, even for small children. I understand not bringing your own food into the area but we felt not allowing water bottles was too strict.nWould definitely stay again. Great place overall!
