This is a really hard review to write because there were some really great things about this place & some not so great… If you are looking for decent portion sizes & good food you’ve come to the right place, but for service and well presented meals perhaps not so. The restaurant has capacity for a large number of diners & catered well for our group of 7 but attention to detail was not there. We booked in advance and yet our table wasn’t ready we had to wait and ask for forks and water. 2 out of the 3 ladies bathrooms were out of order. The server was not forth coming about offering a kids menu so there was a drink mixup & could have advised our group on the size of meals & suggested more appropriate sides for meals as we ended up ordering far too much. Entrees are not necessary as there’s so much food, so to avoid waste order entree size. Medium pizza was great & the pasta & we’d recommend the seafood dishes also. As mentioned earlier presentation is not a priority so if you like a gif looking meal it might not be for you! East place to spend far too much moment but ya won’t go home hungry!
If you like Italian food, La Porchetta Riccarton is the ideal place. Go alone, with friends or family, but be sure to go and enjoy delicious and very well prepared dishes. The place is quite spacious, the staff who work there are very friendly and attentive and if you need suggestions they are readily available to help. I ordered a rib steak with mushroom sauce, accompanied by Italian salad and fries. The sauces were divine, the meat seasoning was perfect and the cooking point of the meat was just the way I like it. I will definitely go back there and recommend it to my friends.

Family dinner for my son's birthday Friday night, food was so good the service was great everyone was really friendly & polite I'll definitely be back again.Food: 5/5
The steak was a bit disappointing, we went on a Sunday evening so maybe the head chef wasn't there? The mashed potato had those crusty bits like when reheated from the bottom of the pan. The Ceasar salad was nice
Party of 6 on a weekday for lunch. Tight seating for us all. Cannelloni was chewy like it had been reheated in a microwave and the pork ribs were similar. Not falling off the bone as you would expect. Wedges and cheesy garlic bread were good.
First of all great steaks...! Good food, too many new servers who get a little overwhelmed but the effort is high. Great on a good night. Sign of the times though the price goes up.....Food: 4/5
Terrible food, the worst I've ever had. We ordered a seafood pasta, it was cold and watery and was just told to put lemon on it for flavour by the server. My partner got a steak and asked for it to be medium. It came out rare so we send it back, they said they would re do the whole meal, new veges and sauce. It came back was cooked better but the rest of the meal was cold and they did not give us any of the mushroom sauce either. So obviously they had just let it sit there while the meat cooked. Our server was nice but the whole experience and the food was an absolute disaster. We spend $98 and what we got was absolutely inedible. Our server said one of our meals would be free but we had to pay for everything at the end. Definitely would not recommend
Very good service from a young man who was doing his best on a very busy Friday night. . .also a lovely salad. . .where it all went south was the pizza. . .absolutely swimming in grease and practically inedible. . .first time this has ever happened here. . .I hope it's a one off experience. . .Food: 2/5
Always a damn good feed! Always consistent quality of food, although the service can vary. Overall though, a great relaxed and friendly environment.
