There aren't many good, reasonably priced i.e. <$14 lunch restaurants this side of town. Fortunately Sushi Kokoya is one of those. I love the variety, sushi, donburi, udon and poke. I also enjoyed the ability to make your own lunch box. My only issue was the lack of labelling price and product, but i'll definitely be back!
In my personal opinion I find this place different, I really like it, specialy the variety, my only issue with this place was the lack of labelling, its hard to know the prices and it ended up being very expensive, nice place, lovely, and friendly staff. Really clean.
Tasty but expensive compared to other places. Most of the sushi items don’t have prices displayed. These few items cost nearly $18!
They have fantastic sushi dishes and love the free bee they give. You can order hot drinks as well. Totally loved it
Great service and very quick! Great variety available and reasonably priced. I ended up ordering the Spicy Pork Sizzling Platter - I found it a bit bland & nothing special for $17 but the portion size was good & the free miso got them another star!
Pretty disappointing, really. Sushi is often quite "fake" tasting poor quality salmon vs the sushi place across the road. Always much more expensive than you think due to lack of pricing signage as you're choosing. Good variety, but again, you put something on your plate and find out it's twice as expensive as you think. Poke bowls are very good, though, hence the 2 stars.
Had a vegetarian Donburi from here and it was awful. Deep fried stale veggies mixed in with with heaps of terrible tasting sauce. I've tried the donburi, sushi and poke bowl from here now and I would honestly say that for me, the veggie food at this place is not fresh or enjoyable and I would not recommend.
A different kind of sushi shop compared to most other places in Auckland. Although it's probably cheaper than any other establishments in the area, it's still one of the most expensive sushi place in Auckland. The place is really fancy, though only have limited number of tables and seats. The prices aren't clearly visible, so it's really surprised me when they bill me $17 for something that I thought would be around $12.
This place is definitely a pleaser. So much variety in sushi, fried tempura, rice/noodle dishes and the newer addition of the poke lunch bowls. Cost is reasonable and service is always great.
The sushi was really fresh and tasty. They had a wide variety of sushi and the quality of other fooddonburi and poke was amazing!!
