Kingsgate Hotel Te Anau

On arrival we were made to feel welcome and all the staff were attentive, polite and friendly. They were genuinely interested in their guests comfort and went out of their way to make sure their guests needs were catered for. Our room was very clean, comfortable, hot shower/bath was really good after a big day out the room had really good heating and the beds were extremely comfortable. The hotel is located opposite the lake and had a lovely view of the water from the dining room. There was a comfortable lounge area with a fireplace with a lovely gas fire. We had dinner both nights and buffet breakfast each morning and we really enjoyed the meals, they were fresh, very tasty and dietary needs/options catered for. Highly recommend this hotel for couples,nsolo travellers and families because everyone is made to feel so welcome. The staff were the greatest asset to this hotel as they were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble. They had good knowledge of the local area and happy to give us advice on the next leg of our trip.nIf ever in Te Anau again we would definitely stay there again.

Amazing hotel at Te Anau. My wife and I sort of short noticed booked here for our Milford Sound trip and it worked out perfectly. In fact we had some issues with our vehicle and the staff quickly accommodated us for a slight shift in booking by one day even though they were practically fully booked. Definitely worth it and the price is more than reasonable. Room was extremely comfortable and tidy. Will rebook when we return for another milford sound trip hopefully when it's raining this time or perhaps a trip to Doubtful Sound.

There isn't a lot of availability in Te Anau around the Xmas period, so we ended up here for a few days at Kingsgate. It's a lakefront hotel, but only the restaurant has lake views. The rooms are basic but clean. Beds are comfortable & there is a bath which was a bonus for us as we hike a lot & look forward to a relaxing soak! All the staff at reception were polite & accommodating

Very lovely hotel. Rooms are decent size and very clean. Diagonal parking slots a bit too small though. No AC in the rooms but the temperature is just right. They provide a fan and heater.

Nice hotel with beautiful lakeside view. It's an old hotel, but everything worked fine. The room was nice, heater worked great to keep us warm, hot water and other amenities feels great too. It has plenty of parking spaces and has good flow of car entrance/exit. It's located close to city centre too.nOne thing to think about is, there is no elevator, or we couldn't found one, so it's pretty difficult to bring our suitcases to the 2nd floor. But, other than that this hotel did its job. Well done!
