Distinction Luxmore Hotel Te Anau

Nice hotel with a great location and very helpful staff. While it’s not brand new, it is reasonably clean and conveniently close to restaurants and major activities. Highly recommended!

Incredible free hotel breakfast options, absolutely delicious! Also an extremely good location, right in the center of Te Anau, just a few minutes walk from restaurants, Real NZ, the lake, gift stores, etc. Very nice staff, and nice spacious rooms. Would absolutely recommend it!

The cleanliness of this hotel is shockingly poor, especially given the high price. Upon arriving at our room, we found the worn sofas covered in large stain marks, with one even showing a footprint from an adult. The manager offered us an upgrade and led us to another room. As it was late and we wanted to rest, we accepted it. However, in all honesty, I now wish we had requested a refund, as we would have gladly stayed elsewhere. In the bathroom of the upgraded room, I found a red hair on the floor, despite none of us having red hair. There are also brown stain on the pillow case and on the sheet. For the price we paid, this is, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

On arrival, this hotel looked very tired and in need of updating. It was also very cold. The reception area was rather dull in lighting and a bit soulless. However, we were told that our room had been newly refurbished and indeed it was very modern, with brand new carpets, lots of lighting, a very effective air con system and a lovely bathroom. There was everything that we needed.nThe hotel is very well located, especially for those doing RealNZ trips. However, it is a very large hotel that clearly caters to multiple coach parties. This meant that we were woken by coaches making an early departure. It also meant that breakfast was only served untill 8.30, as obviously all the coaches have departed by then. We had breakfast towards the end of the serving time, and found the breakfast area which has apparently been refurbished surprisingly pleasant, considering the soullessness of the other public areas.nThe hotel does not have a restaurant though there is apparently one in the summer months. There is however a linked bar/diner, Bailleyz, which we used on the first night and found it fine.nTHE THING THAT SETS THIS HOTEL APART IS THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I SADLY LEFT AN ITEM OFGREAT SENTIMENTAL VALUE BEHIND, AND THE TEAM FOUND IT, LOOKED AFTER IT, ARRANGED FOR IT TO BE SHIPPED BACK TO ME AND PROVIDED ALL TRACKING INFORMATION, IT ARRIVED SAFE AND SOUND. I WOULD RETURN TO THIS PLACE IN A HEARTBEAT.

This is a hidden gem. Beautiful rooms with beautiful sleek design for convenience and excellent buffet breakfast. After the low key description, I was pretty much blown away!
