Adventure, adrenaline, learning new skills & meeting like-minded people are what boating is all about. At Kerikeri Cruising Club, there is a boating education programme so you can learn new skills.

Story

The objects of the Club are to provide a venue for the promotion and participation of all boating activities and in particular encourage the sport of sailing and to foster a safe marine environment and encourage the younger Members of our community to become active and skilled in this sport.

The following Coastguard Boating Education courses are available at the Club:

◾Boatmaster
◾Maritime VHF Operator Certificate
◾Maritime Restricted Operator Certificate
◾GPS Operator
◾Coastal Skipper
◾Ocean Yachtmaster

All courses are advertised on this page but feel free to make suggestions for new ones.

In addition, Learn to Sail programmes at Kerikeri’s Lake Manuwai are just the way to get started in sailing. Enquire at http://www.kerikericruisingclub.org.nz/learn-to-sail.html

The courses offer the opportunity for both children and adults to learn to sail. No experience is required. All the instructors are volunteers, trained to Yachting New Zealand (YNZ) standards and the courses are run in accordance with YNZ guidelines. Advanced tuition in your own boat can also be arranged. All sizes and types of boat are catered for.

The Club also has a Crew Finder Service. Do you want to go racing but can’t find a crew? Are you interested in going racing but are unsure on how to get onto a boat?
