Absolutely amazing food. This was our first restaurant after arriving in Queenstown, and it had set such high benchmark standards for the rest of the trip. The chowder is a must order as it was creamy and buttery. Perfect with the bread that came along. The beef rib sandwich was good as well. The fried pickle offered a tangy contrast to the sandwich.
Great food and nice decor! The green mussels are a New Zealand special. They were fabulous. The French toast donut was also really good, but too much cream. Recommend ordering that on the side. Food was really good and paired well with the atmosphere.
This was the best meal we had in Queenstown. Service was prompt and attentive. The interior was clean and had an excellent sense of style. But our food, wowzers it was good. Eggs Benny. One with bacon and one with salmon. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5
The food was amazing here but three stars is mainly for their perfunctory service here, which was quite surprising considering how Kiwis are known for their exceptional hospitality. A female server looked pretty miffed when we asked if we could take our orders. Apart from that, I think the chowder here is the best I’ve tasted in NZ so far. Fresh and generous ingredients, and the chowder was just superb. We also tried the chicken and waffles and that was lovely too.
Best description is that of Fine Dining in a laid back atmosphere. Thank you to everyone for a fabulous meal. We shared pot stickers to start then He had the lamb shank dish and I had yummy duck pancakes. The meals and their flavour combinations were absolutely memorable and I highly recommend this restaurant. Vegetarian options: I did see some well thought out vegetarian options, much more than the dreaded pumpkin gnocchi that many meat chefs consider for the Vegetarian option Dietary restrictions: I overheard dietary options being taken carefully and questions being run out to the chef
Attentive service that's not overbearing. Food was nicely presented.. you should definitely try the blue cod wings!! Great way to use up something not normally seen on a menu, you get a meaty bit + uber crispy fins, doused in a tangy buffalo sauce with salsa verde. The lamb main had a yummy earthy crust to it. The chicken pilaf could have done with some raisins/currants and rice that wasn't so overcooked otherwise it had some lovely flavours. Mains were quite big, especially after eating two starters so order with your stomach and not your eyes!
Perfect food to serve on a chilly day in Queenstown. Great view of the harbour & it also has heaters & blankets outside if it gets too cold. The inside of the restaurant is very retro & comfortable to sit in. I thought it was really good!Food: 5/5
Visited on a very busy day. Atmosphere was good, staff great. One plate was good and the other not. The bottom burger bun was very soggy. Couldn't eat it even though it looked perfect. Chips good. Didn't complain as staff were run off their feet.Food: 3/5
Had a wonderful meal. The lamb was fantastic. The duck pancakes were delicious too. The garlic bread was good, interesting take on it. The bao was really good too. The pork was nicely crispy.
Good food in a beautiful location! We popped in here opportunistically on a Wednesday evening for a solid 4.5/5 meal! Would definitely recommend stopping by. Starting with a beer and wine during Happy Hour, we followed it up with a large bowl of the Panang curry mussels and the beefburger. Both were tasty but nothing extraordinary. What makes this place special is the mountain and lake view, combined with the retro internal fit out. Staff were on it and the head waitress was very accomodating.
