Great ambiance but most of the main dishes were lacking flavor. The setting and decor of the restaurant are great, very cozy and charming. The appetizers started well with the garlic pizza and meatballs but the squid wasn't as good. We had high expectations for the main dishes, but of the four dishes ordered, two were completely bland and one just lacked a lot of salt. That said, the beef cheek with polenta was perfect. Recommend the restaurant for a relaxing cozy time.
Make a reservation! $56 for 1L of house red wine, recommend! Grilled eggplant entree was nice, and so was the raw meat entree. Carbonara was nice, the pasta in the mushroom sauce was a little plain. We enjoyed the "Trust the Chef" experience. We had no idea what to expect for our 3 course meal and we were pleasantly surprised. Great food, great vibe and great service!
Lovely restaurant, great vibe with perfect music to add to the atmosphere. Very impressed and well looked after by our beautiful waitress Emma. She was so warm and friendly from beginning to end. Nothing was a problem, she came across as so genuine and a lovely person. The food was delicious. We had garlic bread, dough balls, carbonara and another pasta dish. All the food was beautiful and I highly recommend this restaurant.
Firstly can i say, the staff here are AMAZING. we are a family of 6 3 kids and a toddler and the staff were patient, funny and interactive with our kids. Also very knowledgeable with food/wine pairing. The tables were a wee bit too close for my liking covid times but other than that, the food was fresh, seasoned amazing and well priced. Highly recommend this little restaurant
Truly delicious food. The pizzas and calzone were amazing. We loved it so much we came two nights in a row. Staff were lovely, highly recommend.
We wanted a break from all the meat that tends to get served in Queenstown and were looking for alternatives. We decided on BC because they make their own pasta. We had the carbonara, the lamb ragout and spaghetti bolognaise for our daughter. They were all pretty good. The only comment I would make is that I don’t think they need the cream for the carbonara and can just rely on the egg with Parmesan which is what I am use to. The ability to have 1/2 and 1/2 pizza is a nice touch and the pizza was pretty good they do a kind of Napoli/Roma hybrid. The bolognaise sauce was good and not too sharp. For the appetiser we had the mussel in caponata and the caponata was done really well. For dessert we had the tiramisu and affogato. I must commend the service of our waiter French lady I believe who was very polite, helpful and friendly without being overly intrusive. So if you want a nice place to go with a rustic Italian feel then you can’t go wrong with this place. Well done. Kid-friendliness: Nice little selection for children.
My husband and I walked into Bella Cucina with no reservation and were very lucky to get a table at this very popular restaurant. Bella Cucina has satisfied our pasta craving after a day of skiing. The Pappardelle Beef Ragu and Spaghetti Alle Vongole were cooked to perfection. The texture of the pasta tasted just like what we are when we were in Italy. We did add some chilli oil and cheese to our dishes but overall found them to be simply delicious and flavoursome. The Chargrilled squid was amazing and we both loved it so much that they were gone from the plate in 60 seconds. I enjoyed my Italian soda, while my husband had the wine of the week, which he thought could use a bigger glass. Highly recommend the place if you are after some nice pasta. The portion is not big, so you definitely need to order some entree or dessert if you are hungry.
This place was just lovely! Great atmosphere and fantastic food, thank you kayleigh for your great hospitality and going the extra mile to make our day just that little more spectacular than it already was, good job. Thank you. Highly recommend.
Pizza was good but pasta was sooo salty.. and the card machine asked for a tip. It was the first time I saw a machine asking for a tip while living in New Zealand. And as soon as I walked in, A staff asked if I would like to drink sparkling or still water, so I chose still water and it was $10.. I paid for water for the first time while living in New Zealand..
