Indian Star Tandoori Restaurant

I came here with a friend, just for a quick lunch break. I’ve never been to an indian restaurant before, the lady serving us was okay. She didn’t really engage with us and didn’t ask how our meal was. I ordered a delicious vegetarian meal and lamb kababs, it was the most amazing taste I have ever tasted. Presentation was beautiful. Thank you Chefs, the nice lady at the checkout asked how our meals were, she was super nice and changed our perception of the place. Highly Recommended.

Decent food. Ordered Lamb Seek kebab- not great- was reheated. Couldn’t take a picture Beef Vindaloo- say 3 stars Naan- fresh and good 4 Chicken Tikka- was nice 3stars Overall good.

Simple but satiating serve for two: plain/butter naan with Veg Jalfrezi - a day ended well with their lovely service!

The location inside the eat street . The interior is very simple nice staff is very efficient welcoming.The food was great in taste but quantity is very low.

Restaurant has good seating arrangements. However service is extremely slow and the food served to us was nearly cold. Since we waited for so long and were really hungry we just ate and left. The taste of the food was below average. Management doesn’t care about your experience as far as their bill is getting paid. So avoid If you are looking for on time service and good food.

Ordered biryani … got chicken khichidi rice. 1 star for the tondoori chicken which was quite fresh. Not recommend if you looking for authentic Indian food.Food: 1/5

We stayed for 5 nights in Rotorua and decided to try a new restaurant on Eat Street every night. Sadly, Indian Star was our least favourite due to the EXTREMELY slow service. We ordered 2 curries which took over 1 hour and 20 minutes to be served. We were not the only guests who weren't happy as it was evident others were also not pleased with this service. The food was good but nothing to rave about. Overall, there are better options on Eat Street and another Indian restaurant right opposite the road!

We waited for a long time before our order arrived and what's odd is they served the chicken first before the naan. I recommend the Chicken tikka and garlic butter naan, best combo! Food is good for sharing.

Waited an hour for food whilst restaurant seemed relatively standard on a Saturday night, not too busy, chicken was dry. The naan was very good to be fair. Have been here a few years prior and was a 5/5 experience all round, what has happened?Recommended dishesPlain Butter Naan, Cheese Garlic Naan

Absolutely delicious meal. Beautiful fresh fish, as spicy as we asked for it and the tandoori chicken was delicious. Great attentive wait staff. Would definitely return
