Came here today after seeing it being fully packed on a Thursday night. We had the green curry mussel with the pita bread as starters. The main was fish of the day john dory with kumara mash and kale. We also had the prawn spaghetti. The mussel texture and flavour was very very good, right amount of chili and spiciness and very flavourful and tasty. The main was just as good, the john dory was crispy and right amount of tenderness, the kumara mash was full of flavour and I can taste a bit of smokiness. The kale was fried just enough to bring out the flavour. The spaghetti had nice amount of creaminess but not enough to cause flavour overload. The sauce also have a very good natural prawn taste. This chef is very talented, possibly one of the best. I wish the portion would be a bit bigger though.
Best seafood restaurant in Napier. Very friend staff. Right in front of the waterfront. Would definitely come back again! The quality of the food is amazing for the price you pay. We cannot wait to come back again. Still thinking about the grilles octopus
This is a great restaurant for sea food. Just make sure you book it ahead and they are not open every day. Food was fresh, delicious not big portion. We loved most dishes that we ordered: sashimi, crab cake, paua dumplings and grilled snapper. The only thing we didn’t like was the service. We both felt overlooked comparing to more welcomed local guests as we could see everything happening there, unfortunately we ended up not ordering all the food and wine that could have. In terms of food, it is still highly recommended.
Beautiful dinner. We hadn't booked thinking not too many would be here early. We were wrong! But, we were welcomed in and squeezed us in. Thank you so much. The meals and service was lovely. We had the fish burger with Korean chips and seafood chowder.
A place near the water. Charming and great service. Got the small plates- perfection- dumplings crab, scallops and pomegrabete coconut fish my favorite. Everyone else got the fish and chips. Piping hot and they loved them.Food: 5/5
Food was excellent but long waiting time. Almost 1 hour between starters n main. Booked in for tomorrow night. Thats how good.
If you're craving some seafood this is the place to dine! We had the Oyters, Scallop skewers, mussel and chorizo in beer sauce bucket as well as our mains also fish meals, highly recommend the yellow curry with fish, unreal! Quality service from the staff and a good variety of wines to choose from. We will be back again and again !
Went on 8 Dec 2022. We had fish and chips, oyster, prawn pasta etc. The food is really nice, especially the prawn pasta. The resturant is small but cosy. Highly recommended.
