The atmosphere and customer service at this place was amazing. We sat outside and it was steady in terms of customers. A friend and I attended for afternoon cocktails and dinner and the food was absolutely sensational.nnWe ordered the olives, the bread with burrata, the lamb and the beef and honestly the amount of food for the quality and taste of the food was unmatched.nnThe service was quick - polite - all round a great experience. Will be going back again soon for sure!!!

We love the vibe and the atmosphere of this place. We went during lunch time on a Saturday so there were plenty of vacant tables. The food was really really good, but it takes a while to be served. The staff are amazing and kind.

Excellent pub. We came straight to Hotel Ponsonby after stepping off our flight from Melbourne. The space was warm and inviting. As it was a sunny day, we chose to sit in the courtyard near the fire — which was a delight! The drinks menu was great. We ordered some finger food, and the calamari was incredible. Our waiter was super friendly and gave us some fantastic recommendations for our short stay in Auckland. We ended up having the best night thanks to his suggestions. Cannot wait to return one day!

I have some mixed feelings about this restaurant that I would like to express. Let's start with the positive aspects:nnPros:n- The restaurant provides a pleasant environment and offers a memorable experience. I particularly enjoyed the nostalgic vibes and the well-executed decorations.n- The staff members were satisfactory, although they could improve in terms of proactively informing customers about the daily specials that are not listed on the menu.nnNow, moving on to the negatives:nnCons:n- Despite the appealing presentation, the taste of the food did not live up to my expectations. It seemed more appetizing than it actually turned out to be.n- The mushrooms dish, in particular, had a rancid taste which was quite disappointing.n- The burger was average, lacking any exceptional flavors or distinguishing features.n- Even the water had a strange fishy taste, which made me question whether it was due to the water source or the glasses not being adequately cleaned.nnOverall, while the restaurant had its positive aspects, the underwhelming taste of the food and the presence of some unsatisfactory elements left me somewhat disappointed.

Not a hotel but a bar/restaurant for the hipncrowd. Looks quiet from the outside but the inside is usually busy with well-dressed Aucklanders who aren't afraid to spend big bucks on sneakers, bags and alcohol-free wines.nFood was priced as would be expected from such a well decked out establishment and service is efficient and informative without being too pushy.nOnly gripe is that the much hyped French fries weren't crisp and hot as we'd hoped.nBeing someone you'd like to impress or dress to impress
