The Sugar Club

About

A chic and elegant dining experience with stunning views and a luxurious cocktail bar.

Story

I have a long and enjoyable culinary heritage with The Sugar Club restaurants – there have been four of them.

The first opened on Wellington's Vivian Street back in 1986. In those days, it was a revelation on the local dining scene as I 'mixed and matched' Asian and European flavours and ingredients – a fusion of cuisines that hadn't been done before. The next two opened in London. The first on Notting Hill's All Saints Road in 1995, followed in 1998 by one on Warwick Street in West Soho.

The fourth incarnation is currently located on Level 53 of the fabulous Sky Tower, with its breathtaking views across the dynamic city of Auckland. Our menu is based around small seasonal plates packed full of flavour. We source the finest produce from around New Zealand and mix it up a little with flavours from around the world. We call it 'Fusion Cuisine' - our guests call it delicious.

Our decor evokes 1930s Art Deco Italy and is inspired by the sensual film 'I Am Love'. Brass fittings, stone table tops and gorgeous tableware all add to the atmosphere.

I'm sure you'll feel cosseted and invigorated after a meal of discovery, complemented by our deliciously creative cocktails and my favourite wines from around New Zealand and Italy.

Phenomenal. Staff were friendly, polite and accommodating. Food was delicious to say the least and we thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu and wine pairings. Highly recommend splashing out to make the most of the menu available.
Holy Mother of baby Jesus, this was a delight to all the senses!! The view was stunning, the waiters were bomband the food is divine. Not that kind on the wallet, but so worth it for a special occasion. Highly recommend
Great experience, great service and with a view to match. The food was all delicious, well seasoned and the cocktails do not disappoint. Low lights, comfortable chairs and an amazing vibe.
I would give 6 out of 5 stars. I forgot the name of the girl who served us on 19th nov , 8:30 booking for dhara with the long braided hair was amazing. That extra star belongs to her . Even the servers apart from her was good too. I love how vegan plant based tasting menu is curated. The variety and taste , omg we lovedddd it. Loved the special butter and it’s flavour with the bread. As a Indian I loved the the different twist or say take on Pani puri. Lovely looking spring garden salad. I usually don’t enjoy eggplant but the eggplant as main that you served was beautiful to look at as well as taste. Nutty carrot lovely. Sweet sour and bitter when all elements eaten togather. It was greattFeijoa sorbet is the first time I tried the flavour . I enjoyed it. And lastly treats was outstanding with sugar coasted raspberry jelly I appreciate the chef who thought of this menu as well as made it taste so well. I am glad I could take out some time to visit sugar club while I was in Auckland for work trip View was spectacular in front of harbour bridge.
Yes, yes, any time yes! Fantastic time! Excellent cocktails ! Very cozy and inviting interior design. Very kind and attentive stuff. Excellent choice of drinks and cocktails. I would highly recommend to try Aoraki! Very beautiful cocktail based on gin, misha riesling wine and passion fruit puree. The combine to a very unique delicious taste. This cocktail also has dry ice in it which makes it more attractive and magical. I highly recommend to try this cocktail and visiting this establishment. You wont regret it their hospitality and a magnificent night view of Auckland from 53rd floor! Love it. Will be back !
Beautifully presented food, the degustation and a la carte options are both fantastic also have a vegan option the menu and cocktails is always changing. This is an absolute favorite and the views from the restaurant are picturesque. Service could be improved a notch.
The team were amazing. Fish was a little bit over cook but its countered by the other flavors found in the dish. Overall chill vibes. Food was okay and staff were accommodating.
The food was awful and the drinks were average. My partner got the pi king duck and it looked like vomit and the taste wasn't nice, he didn't it. My starter wasn't nice either, I barely touched it. We both got the lamb and it was cooked well but it wasn't enough, we still left hungry. The staff were amazing and went above and beyond to make it up to us by taking the starters off the bill and bringing us out complimentary desserts but even they were horrible. The 2 stars are for the staff and the view but the food was a huge let down. We left feeling ripped off and hungry.
The oysters were so fresh and chilled with plum flavour crushed ice, so delicious!Great service and amazing view!
Had a great time worh frends here. Cocktail menu was great so was the bar menu.. Great drinks with an even better view.Food: 5/5
