Story

The Hot Springs Motor Lodge - offers 32 well appointed accommodation units, designed to offer guests a relaxing, comfortable stay whilst visiting Hanmer Springs whether for business or pleasure.

All accommodation units have super king beds that can be split, with some units also having a single beds as well. Our accommodation units are large spacious rooms that offer ensuite bathrooms, some with spa baths; kitchenettes with microwave and tea and coffee making facilities.

Big and comfortable rooms, lot of tea and coffee and milk; big bathroom and big shower, large and comfortable beds. Breakfast lot of choices. Excellent restaurant on the premises "5 stacks": 400g flintstone steak is so good, we had it on second evening again!! Also ribs and salmon are very good. For craft beer lovers small jug recommended give 3 pints. 2 days ticket at the thermal bath recommended! 1/3 discount for seniors! Food & drinks: Breakfast lot of choices. Excellent restaurant on the premises "5 stacks": 400g flintstone steak is so good, we had it on second evening again!! Also ribs and salmon are very good. For craft beer lovers small jug recommended give 3 pints.
The rooms are great, albeit bright. The smoke alarm just above the bed seems to be all LED with a green light illuminating the room. The beds are soft and comfortable and bathrooms well appointed. The light from the smoke alarm kept me awake most of the night as it was so brightRooms: 3/5
Staff very friendly even those who can't speak English. The room left a little to be desired but it was still good value for money spent. The Five Stag/bar restaurant was comfortable with breakfast providing plenty of good food. Rooms: Room was adequate but the website photos are misleading. Bathroom and other facilities are old and the photos don't show that.
Lovely front desk man, super nice and welcoming. The room is super warm and comfortable, got an extra bed which is awesome. Unfortunately we asked for a bed for the two of us and got two single beds pushed together which was a bit uncomfortable. The walls were filthy. The shower also leaked and wet the floor, and i dont think the shampoo is actually shampoo.. more like soap. great pressure for the shower tho! Almost too good, almost blew a hole through myself lol. Also can't turn on the light without a very loud fan and the walls are paper thin so, prepare to wee in the dark at night time. All in all a good stay :
We have a great and beautiful time at Hanmer Springs Retreat. We booked for two rooms and they are massive, a lot of space to move around, and if you don't want to use air-conditioning in this summer season, Fresh air of summer breeze is in every room... Breakfast is included and there are a lot of food choices just eat as much as you can We I and my family loves our stay and we will book again definitely. The customer service, awesome! Keep up the excellent service. Very friendly staff in the front house as well as the bar and Kitchen staff. You guys rock! Parking wise... you will have one, never ran out. You can walk to Hanmer Springs hot pools, 6 to 7 minutes away. Everyone has a different taste in terms of accommodation but I can recommend Hanmer Springs Retreat. Just try it! Rooms: Massive space. Lots to move around. Nearby activities: The Hanmer Springs pools, Fast food, restaurants, walk tracks, cycling tracks and picnic grounds. Safety: Car parks are safe for kids some park at the front space and back. Never ran out. Walkability: You can walk just about anywhere. Not far from hot pool, fast foods Restaurants as well as the hotel's bar and restaurant just around the corner. Food & drinks: Food are great! Drinks a lot of choices too at the bar. Noteworthy details: We are happy contented
We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times & have found it to be good value. There's even a continental breakfast included in the tariff. The rooms are spacious with kitchenettes, private bathrooms & comfortable beds. Check-in was fast & pleasant Walkability: 10 minutes into town approximately

Stayed here for a long weekend with my friends. Overall enjoyed our stay. Rooms were immaculately clean , Mountain View’s and restaurant got a lovely vibe. Breakfast was more than what we expected. Many thanks to the staff for our enjoyable weekend in Hanmer springs.
My husband myself and our toddler stayed here we had actually booked and paid for two nights but due to a passing in the family had to leave. We thought perhaps we could get a partial refund for the second night due to compassionate grounds..got told no there is a 48 hour refund policy so it really put the boot in our honeymoon but ok .Now the room ...upon entering we noticed a very odd smell almost like the carpets had been washed but not dried out properly then there was the shower which I did take video footage of..the bottom of the shower had a lot of grime build up around the base ..at first I thought perhaps it's stained but upon inspection while doing the video I was able to scratch it off with my fingernail...not what you would expect from a four star motel or any motel at all
My expectations were prephaps too high . Overall it is ok. Before we booked everything was no problem. But asking for a 1 hr late check out was a problem. Getting out reservation in the restaurant was a problem, and dont expect too much of a breakfast. Overall, the rooms were large and had what we needed.Rooms: 3/5
