Hola Mexican Cantina

Such delicious food Mexican food! The queso was really cheesy and fresh with the corn chips, and the vegetarian fajita meal was so yum! The food servings were nice and big, and we were able to share this between 3 people. Cocktails are also pretty affordable, but weren’t that great unfortunately.

Was booked into Hola Mexican Cantina for a group meal at 7.30pm. About 17 people. When I arrived there were about 6 people downstairs and I was told we were upstairs. This is labelled 'Apache' with pictures of native Americans. A drinks order was taken. These arrived about 40 mins later. Food order was taken from the extremely small not-in any-way Mexican menu, which we were still waiting for at 8.50pm, at which point I complained. I was advised the order had only been passed to the kitchen at 8.30pm. The entree appeared at about 9pm. I finally managed to obtain my main meal in a box to take home. I left at 9.36pm. While I was waiting I realised that a vastly different steak meal was available downstairs for a metre $4 more. Despite my clear polite complaint I was still charged full price, FIFTY DOLLARS for a pretty sub standard meal. The manager seemed to think it was our fault the meal was late. He was the chap wandering about in a huge black hat. Staff were lovely but clearly not enough of them. Will not be back. Terrible.

We had a party of 12 come in to celebrate our friends birthday and as a first timer I was very impressed. The service lady was absolutely amazing aswell as our bartender the food was definitely the star of the show. Highly recommend this place will definitely be coming back with my own family.

Hey Hola! I don’t typically like to post negative reviews. Although our experience dining in at Hola last night was a little disappointing. It took us 20 minutes to get initial service from being seated, until going up to the bar to ask to order drinks. When we arrived it wasn’t overly busy either.nWe also noticed the table behind us had to do the same thing.nIf it was just my partner and I, we would have walked out after the initial wait and attitude of the staff.nnThe staff appeared miserable, none of them had a warm welcoming approach and when we asked for service you could see the hatred in their eyes.nWe were a group of 6, and all of our main meals came out at extremely different times, by the time our final meal had been dropped at the table the first 2 meals were finished not fast eaters either.nNot to mention the food was bland and the quality of especially the Ribs my partner received were poorly well overcooked, chips were good though!nnWe had really high hopes after hearing great things about Hola, but we all walked away shocked at the cost of our final bill, and the service we received. Unfortunately I don’t think we will be returning customers

While spending a lovely weekend in Paraparaumu, my husband & I came upon Hola & decided to lunch there. So glad we did, the menu had large selection & hard to decide but I ordered enciladas while hubby got the burrito. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals washed down with their sangria.nWe were well looked after by staff. Would definitely return to Hola.
