Reviews
It’s a good place for long and short walk.nif you plan to visit this film location, you should park at “LOTR park Location” its the shortest walk to the film location. I don’t recommend to visit the place on rainy days.
beautiful walking track and of course makes me happy as a big Lord of the Rings and the Hobbits fan!nnWell, you will see landscape and trees only here, but you can imagine when it's used as one of the sets for LOTR movies.nnThe track is friendly for beginner and I love the fact that I can enjoy fresh air, beautiful landscapes and hear the happy chirping of the birds.nnThe track is not too far from the parking spot. It's not suitable for those with wheelchairs.nnThere are benches with some quotes from the movies and some benches also overlook beautiful Wellington skyline.nnStop by if you happen to be in the surrounding areas
Hobbit’s Hideaway is a magical spot for fans of “The Lord of the Rings” and nature lovers alike. Nestled in the forest of Mount Victoria in Wellington, it offers a beautiful setting that transports you straight into the Shire. The filming location is easy to access, and the walking trails are well-maintained. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience the atmosphere of Middle-earth!
Follow the path down towards the marker. You'll feel like you've overshot it to the North, but there's a path that comes back and leads you down. If you set your sights for Frodo's reading tree then you CAN'T miss it. Bringing a companion or 3 will help you get the best shot.
Hobbits hideaway is located right on the side of the path and close to the spot where the Hobbits tumble down the slope whilst fleeing from the Black Rider. Definitely worth the hike down and back up to view. Be aware, the path is steep and overlaid with slippery pine needles in many spots - wear appropriate footwear.
