Like my review! I can only speak for the beers and not the food and I'll state that it was one damn good beer. As a person who loves wine, beers are only served to me if it's excellent. Good Union serves amazing Good George beer that puts this brewery on the map of the amazing craft beers in this country. And how frequently can you tell your friends that you drank beer inside a church. As a devout Catholic, it was amazing to see how they transformed this church into a restaurant and brewery which was so beautiful and elegant. Although I wish I lived closer, I can drink their beers every week at Good Union. I highly recommend it to our friends and family.
Absolutely loved it here. Great food, nice casual atmosphere which was what we were after. Staff were friendly and attentive.nThe decor is casual and modern. Situated in an old church building ithe restaurant side has a stunning plate glass window that throws coloured light into the building.nWe ordered hazy ale and a Doris plum cider plus the beef burgers, one being gluten free and we both enjoyed them.nWould come back here for sure.
Inside a restored Church! Cocktails and cider, more please. Really liked the plum gin. Chef knew what they were doing. Baked Brie was fantastic, even the bread was crisped properly. Grilled snapper = . And of course fish and chips was bang on. Just go, and eat outside!
Tourist review: The food was delicious. Service was prompt. The servers were friendly and informative. They were able to answer all of our questions about the area. The prices were very reasonable. I'm glad we stopped by for a bite. You go to the bar to pay.
All main meal prices but tapa sized portions. The double cheese Mac n cheese was lukewarm and disappointingly tasteless. The Buddha bowl was tasty but a side salad size. The 5 bite-size pieces of pork was beautiful. Being left hungry, we got two desserts. Add a small bowl of chips and 3 non-alcoholic drinks = $166.00 for 3 people. Yeahhhh ... nah.
