Story

The Galleon Family Complex, situated at the north end of Oamaru, is your one stop for family fun, great meals and a place to catch up with friends.

Come in and enjoy our family friendly atmosphere, have a go at tenpin bowling before or after you have a meal in our restaurant, or grab a drink and a bite to eat from our bar.

Our restaurant can seat 90 people at any one time, while we can also cater to larger groups and functions, with a fully furnished function room that can seat up to 120 people.

For those looking to have some fun while they are here, we have an 8 lane tenpin bowling alley, an arcade games area for the kids, as well as an 18 machine class 4 gaming room.

Came here for a beer and wee feed, customer service was great, paid $12 for fish and chips 100% satisfied with the service. Worth spending money here. I would recommend it to everyone.
Went for a meal then black light ten pin bowling. We enjoyed our meals and the staff was friendly. People that I spoke to were uncertain that it was open. Well it is and doing great. Would recommend going here. Loved the 10 pin bowling and it's cheaper on Thursdays only $7 per game.
Most of the food was delicious, though the fries were barely edible. Ten pin bowling after was fun especially once the Black Light special came into effect. Would love to visit again next time in town

We were a party of six adults and there was not one complaint. Huge meals and yummy. Staff were super friendly and the restaurant looks great. It is now our go to in Oamaru.
Treat night out, and bad experience Ordered a ribeye steak, and had grissel in it, worst steak I have ever had in a restaurant. We complained and the lady manager accused me of eating too much of my steak to then complain, be careful if you have any complaints, tell them before you eat it, or that’s your fault.
Update: July 2022. Popped in hoping for a quick evening meal before the rugby! Staff were so accommodating and friendly! We had a very nice meal - couldn't fault it! The new decor is looking great too! After a game of bowls which was fun the 4 of us went to the restaurant. Only 4 other people there. Over an hour later staff were very apologetic and telling us our meals would not be long but it was too little too late! I think they forgot us which is very hard to believe with only 1 other table of diners. When they finally arrived 1 1/4 hours the meals were nice and they gave us free ice cream in an attempt to make up for the big delay. I wouldn't normally write a bad review but it's not the first time I've been let down at this restaurant.
Food was average, bowling was fun and worth a visit however wouldn't be my go to place for a meal, staff are okay some a bit grumpy otherwise an okay establishment.
Booked 9 children fir bowling at 11am. Arrived early only to find it didnt open until 12. I was not impressed . WHY take my booking when your not open at that time. A huge thank you to the lady who desperately tried to contact the right people to get things moving for us. I ordered a shared platters of mini spring rolls chicken nibbles and chips we got samosas and chicken nibbles not impressed when i had 9 hungry children.
