Great lunch spot! The BLT is my favorite. Soups are really good too. We haven't had bad service yet. I recommend trying them out if you looking for a good lunch. I am sure their dinner menu is great too but we haven't tried it.Food: 5/5
What a lovely discovery this place was! We had a large group, and although they were a little understaffed, Savannah our adorable waitress was incredibly cheerful, attentive and eager to please us. She was racing around refilling glasses, delivering meals, and working hard, all the time, with a smile! In addition, the food was wonderful. I was impressed to find two vegan options and lots of variety in the menu and even happier that it all tasted great. I highly recommend this place for drinks and dinner!
This would be my "must do" if I lived in the area! Outstanding food, service and atmosphere. Charming and captivating! Best pork tenderloin recipe! My wife had the tofu and dessert was great. Love it!
What a great place. It was busy. However, server was quick with everything. The food took a while which made sense with how busy it was. Gluten free options galore and it tasted amazing. Pickles were strangely superb and had me wanting extra! I will have to make this a frequent spot. Dietary restrictions: Very familiar with gluten allergies, used separate toaster for gluten free bread.
Went there from a google search of vegan fare. They boasted a vast menu which should be good for most parties. Other than the hot pot soup, Vegan options were any salad you put the tofu on... The hot pot was delicious btw!! With a name like Five Loaves you would expect a nice fresh warm loaf of, or at least piece of bread on the table....We had to ask halfway through our meal... but was worth the wait. All in all good food, and great service.
Friendly staff. Greeted right when we came in. Pleasant atmosphere. Seated right away with no wait even though busy. Waitress was very knowledgeable about menu items. Great recommendations from her. The appetizers were amazing, the soups made in house fresh with a many local fresh ingredients we learned as possible. Now everywhere I go shrimp is cooked decent atleast. Some good. The chef here cooked the shrimp appetizer to perfection. The shrimp was deveined, perfectly seared. Not a hint of rubber when just over done or over done, they were not undercooked and slimy. They were when I say the most perfectly cooked shrimp I have ever had, the best. Our food all came out hot and delicious. The chef had 2 special, a beautifully cooked catfish over fettuccine Alfredo and beef stroganoff. This is easily one of our favorite restaurants in Summerville. Now their desserts are not in house but from saffron's downtown Charleston. I have to say, I'm not a fan of any dessert with shaved coconut on it but the coconut cake they had there I would order and absolutely eat. I tried it and it melted in my mouth and sweet but not overly sweet. This goes wonderful with a cup of their coffee by the way.
My husband and I went for brunch at Five Loaves in Sunday. We hadn’t been there in a while, so when we saw the brunch specials, especially the vegan biscuits, we had to try them! We are not vegans, but the idea of them intrigued us and I am always a fan of stewed apples and pecans. It was absolutely amazing! We cleaned the plate and then wanted more. It was a wonderful appetizer, even coming from two people who love meat! The atmosphere and service was wonderful as well. We will absolutely be back and ordering the vegan biscuits and stewed apples!.
Wow, this was our second choice as our first choice had a line out the front door... VERY glad we did. Our waitress, Rita, was very nice and mentioned her favorite items and dressings for the salads. The portions were perfect size, and the Brussel sprouts appetizer... phenomenal. One might get discouraged with a small or limited menu items, but with the limited menu, the chef is able to perfect flavour combinations and knows exactly how to marry the flavours of his ingredients. I am so glad the other place had a long wait to enjoy this place! It is well worth the wait or drive.
Great food and even better service! Visiting the Summerville area for a week from NY and have stopped into this place several times during our stay. Can't go wrong on any item here, everything is delicious. Highly recommend leaving room for dessert ;Food: 5/5
Wow what a find. Great little house turned into a restaurant. Clean and fun vibe. Staff was awesome. Thanks Ala. I wanted something light and came in for a salad. It was fresh and great. They had anice little wine section but did not sample. May be next time. Has a porch section with big windows.
